my favorite this year is probably minus the bear- planet of ice. It really reaches out there, but the singing somehow brings it down to a normal tone. It's experimental, but also indie, definitely a great listen. you can here a lot of different influences, including a heavy hendrix influence. so if you're a hendrix fan you should check some of this stuff out.EDIT: oops. kinda messed up on the title. yeah I'm pretty f*cking high

This is debatable, but as far as hip hop. The best album so far this year is: Evidence-The Weatherman LPIncredible beats, most by Alchemist, and good lyrics. Chase the Clouds is a sick song.

Best Damn Thing was my favorite album so far this year.

Haven't listened to too much. The majority of my artists are in an off year this year. Last year was a much better music year for me. So many good albums last year coming out.

TI is a joke. TI vs. TIP is one of the worst and overhyped albums ever. any "hip-pop" fan would love his album and stay on his nuts, just because of name recognition and because that's what all the "cool people" listen to.

UGK is for real. i'm wit you on that one.

but then again, it seems as if you just go and read the top album sales...

    Talib Kweli - Eardrum

He's not back to the point where he's making classics like Reflection and Blackstar (too many street anthem attempts) but like the Roots' Game Theory...a step in the right direction
