I'm surprised we haven't heard a single rumor about Darko and Toronto, does he want too much money or something? He's young, international, has some upside and fills the defensive hole we have at center, why not send some money his way? I think he fits more of a need then Kapono (even tho I like that signing).Comment?
He is wanting quite a bit of money, for a player that is still a work in progress. He wants around 10 million a year or so, which is outrageous for him. He has alot of holes in his game, and it's not sure that he will be motivated to really learn once he gets his money. Coming from a rather poor background, with lots of problems growing up, he could just want the money and really not care. I couldn't imagine paying that much money for Darko right now, when you don't know what you will get from him. Toronto seems better off just trying to trade for one like Haywood in Washington or something.
I agree with Valo, Darko is asking for too much money. Other than being a pretty good shot blocker, he hasn't shown me much of anything. Darko played pretty damn well during the playoffs though, that I'll give him credit for. He has shown flashes of being a good player, but he's asking for too much at the moment.
Why Toronto? Why not another team? We 1st have to get rid of Rasho before we bring in another center.I wouldn't mind seeing Darko in TO though.
We don't have the $$$ to go get Darko...Plus, like people have already said he still hasn't shown much offense to his game, so what he is asking for is ridiculous and a very big risk.
Darko is way out of our price range we couldn't afford him before we signed Kapono. I doubt Rasho is going to play much this year... Andrea was playing more then Bosh in the playoffs they really like to keep him on the floor.

He's right...for the latter part of the series. He played more than Bosh mainly because of foul trouble. They had no other choice, but he stepped up big time. And when they were on the floor together it was amazing to watch.Darko is asking for too much money for a player of his calibre. He has shown he can become a great player, but does he really want to? You guys are right, once he gets the money, he'll probably be not as good. If I were a GM, the most I would offer him is 3 years, so he's still motivated to play good.

Could be the milions of dollars in FA. I wouldn't even give Milicic $6 million considering his lack of development and history of questionable work ethic.
Seriously, Darko is like the biggest bust of all time in the NBA - or one of them.Another one I must mention is Michael Friggin Sweetney.

I don't even remember Rasho getting on the floor. Bargnani changed that series if we could of got that last play and I hate to go back but even the Nets players were saying it would of been us going on to play Cleveland.
10mil for darko we can forget about it. I see him as another rasho if we do get him. hes a greedy player. but if I was to test him ill give him a bit less then 9mil for 2 years and see how he is for those 2 years. he isnt that great on the offensive floor. but what I like about him is that he can block shots and get rebounds which raptors need badly help on.
You guys are crazy. Darko doesn't deserve more than 3 mil a year, I dont know why you guys are overrating him. Al Jefferson, whos probably done more last year than Darko did in his whole damn career is getting 2.4 this year. What do you guys think he is?
That's because the 2.4 is still part of his Rookie Contract. He's gona get a pretty hefty extension once his contract is gona come to an end.
Yeah come on man use some common sense when you compare contracts Anyway about Darko, he's young he's big he's got talent and he wasn't that bad at all when he started for Orlando last year. If Colangelo could find a way to bring him I think it'd be a good fit.For example, Mo pete sign and trade + Joey Graham for Darko sign/trade.
Hes still not getting more than 10 million a year. I dont think you guys understand that, and Darko is not getting more than 4 tops. Hes not a top tier FA and shouldnt even be talked about when it comes to hefty contracts.
He'll get more then 4 no problem. The MLE is 5 or 6 and he will at least get that. Al Jeff might not get 10 but if he has a huge year this year then who knows....

Below is a set of work that Darko will need to improve upon to become a talented offensive player and rebounder.First off, they will have to continue to work on his shooting form. The ball comes off of his hands well, but there are times when he will try to arc his back while shooting. The Magic staff worked with him on it alot, and Milicic got alot better at not arcing his back when he shoots, but from time to time he still does it. So they will need to keep him practicing on his form there. Another thing they will need to work with him on, is taking his time while making his offensive move. Milicic has beautiful foot work but gets excited out there sometimes, and trys to make his move to quickly. This usually results in him throwing the ball at the backboard because of how fast he is trying to do things, rather than laying up. When he took his time, made his move and layed it up, Milicic was on the money. If they can calm him down out there, he will be much better. Finally, they need to work on his rebounding a little bit. He is not very strong, he doesn't box out, and he doesn't go after the ball well trying to get it at his highest point. Instead he will jump with his arms in, and closer to his head almost, not getting the ball at the highest point which is fundamentally wrong. These are some area's he showed improvement in, but he still has a long way to go in those area's, as well as just being more aggressive on the offensive end. That is alot of work that will need to be put in to make Milicic a better player. Then you add to that, the fact that you don't know if he would be willing to work as hard as he did last year with the Magic after he gets his big pay day, and he could easily be a waste of money and cap space. That is why I wouldn't want the Magic to sign him back, and exactly why if the Raptors were smart(which Colangelo is) they would never sign Milicic to the kind of money he is going to get paid by some other sucker team.
Yeah hes not worth that much only reason why I said 1 year 6 mil tops, first of all its only 1 year so hes obviously not gonna want to sign a 1 year 2 mil contract. second, the entire market overrates him so even if we only bid 4 mil or somethin other teams will prob give him a higher offer.and third by doing so we can mainly use him for the first half of the season then in the second half we trade him since he will be an expiring contract
