Hey guys, so I started feeling vertigo last night on the ride home from a meeting. I have never had car sickness or motion sickness before, ever, accept may on crazy roller coasters....felt like when you are about to fall asleep, wake up, and feel like you are falling coupled with nausea and a band of pressure around my head. Went to sleep thinking it would go away. Woke up this morning, and it was still there albeit a bit better, then I got on the bus to go to work and it hit me really hard again. I feel almost like I am intoxicated. Way Off Balance. I was thinking either I am just getting sick or suddenly developed motion sickness (If that is possible). Was thinking about going to the doctor, but I feel kind of stupid about it. Have any of you ever felt like this? This shit is weird.
go to the doctor as soon as you can. When I get vertigo, its more of an imbalance feeling, I don't have any accompanying pain.
No pain maybe some fatigue...but yeah heavy imbalance. The band of pressure around my head isn't painful...feels more like a pervading numbness...a static tingling Also lights feel extra extra bright. Feel like a vampire
Could be ear problem. Try OTC motion sickness meds, be careful, they can make you groggy. If problem persists, don't be embarrassed about seeing a doctor. You're male, right? In women vertigo can be a menopause symptom.
Definitely go to the doctor and have your vitals checked out as heart issues can cause similar things and you don't want to mess with it. Better to be safe than sorry.
In every other industrialized country, people aren't embarrassed to go the doctor, because health insurance is considered a right. Do you feel foolish when you hijack a thread? Of course not, that's freedom of speech. Don't be ashamed to exercise your rights.
I get dizzy all the time. Probably get dizzy 5 - 10 times a day. Sometimes I start to pass out. A few months ago I stood up, got dizzy and passed out. My wife couldn't hold me up and I fell to the floor hitting my head, hip and shoulders. I've got to watch it very carefully. Today, was a good dialysis day with my blood pressure only getting down to 85. It's been down to 59 before. As if that weren't enough, I hate heights. If I get over one or two steps off the ground I'm white knuckled. Made it tough to get through Basic Training. Have never yet gotten sea sick or air sick, though. So, I guess I'm tougher than you in that department.
Never feel foolish for getting a real concern checked out by your doctor unless you tell him you have weird affinity for female farm animals. Ask me how I know.
Don't feel foolish man, but I understand because I have too, kts more of a guy thing, not a right to a doctor thing at all! Remember the commercial where the lady was hanging around the guys neck all day until he went to the doc! That's me...
