I don't really believe that the Sixers would trade either of Simmons or Embiid, but if they did, it would be much more likely to be Embiid, because of his injury history (and the supposed obsolescence of big men). Would anyone care to try to unite Dame and Embiid? Remember, if the Sixers make him available it's because they're giving up on him, which might mean that they think he's approaching Oden levels of broken-downness. (It would also be a way to get more bang for their buck out of Horford, who they gave a huge contract to, and who can't really play alongside Embiid.) I'd say: go for it! Dame and Embiid would be a classic big-man-small-man combo, and when he's on, Embiid is pretty much unstoppable (and also a great defender). But it would probably take something like this:
I appreciate your trade proposals, and ideas. Embiid and Simmons are both kind of question marks in terms of health at this point. I love Nurk, but Id probably do this trade.
Outside of Bradley Beal, which the Blazers don't have a use for, Joel Embiid is a good candidate to be the next superstar available on the trade market. I don't think the Blazers should "trade just to trade" this offseason, but if Embiid is indeed on the block, Portland must pounce. Dame is too good (Top 5 overall, imo) to not go all in on his prime.
Can't see it. Even if we were the only team bidding, I doubt we could come up with an offer that would tingle their loins.
Embiid won't make sense for us in my opinion. Doesnt solve the forward issue, and would create a SG issue in favor of giving up a ton of assets to upgrade a position we already have ample coverage at.
Yes, they would have to be fairly desperate to trade. But if they did, I think CJ and Nurk would be a good pickup for them. Nobody's going to offer them a superstar for Embiid just because his injury history is so troubling, and meanwhile Philly might be the best setting for CJ as Philly is best suited to compensate for his downsides (size and defense). Plus he was an in-state star at Lehigh...
I am NOT a fan of Aaron Gordon. He's all sizzle and no steak. Bamba might be something, but then again, he might not. Could be the next Bismack Biyombo.
Convince Fournier to pick up his option and sub for Gordon. Might not be enough as he would be an expiring. Orlando might need to add a draft asset. might want to check out Bamba's three pt. percentages before Bismack comparison.
