I'm just curious. From a Liberal standpoint, is this place (S2) a microcosm of America at large? Perhaps. Dunno. But I'm finding there are certainly some very passionate, and seemingly mixed, ones in these parts. Bloomberg (and, perhaps, brokered convention) notwithstanding, it occurs to me that Bernie and Joe will be the last ones standing heading towards the Convention. What say you?
I already voted for Elizabeth Warren. So it's not an issue for me. I'd vote for either, despite criticisms of both, in November.
One thing that is impressive about republicans, they vote their side no matter what. how many people held their nose and still voted for Cheetolini vs the people who were Bernie fans who didn't vote for Clinton? Hell, look at the people who Cheetolini threw under the bus (Graham, Cruz, etc) who now are lap dogs.
Same. I've voted for Warren. I'm fine with either Sanders or Biden--neither is my ideal candidate, but I think both would end up doing similar things in office, given the constraints of Congress.
What? He's changed his spots more often than I've drunk beers. Some spots he's never changed, true, but he's vacillated between lots of spots numerous times.
Also voted for my Congressperson Eric Swalwell. My county supervisor helped me when I went to him with a big problem that I had been unable to solve privately so he gets my vote. There is a judge position I hadn't paid a lot of attention to. Two of three candidates submitted statements to voter guide. Similar positions. One said he would be the first gay man elected to the court. The other said she would be the first Latina and first lesbian elected to the court. I voted for the lesbian.
i have heard a lot of this. not sure if i disagree, but these are the exact types of things republicans were saying about trump. "he will take down our party with him" "it will be a disaster" "panic!" "he has zero chance in the general election" "the things he says are too crazy for moderate voters" "once some of the moderate candidates drop out, he will get crushed by whomever the donors coalesce around, hes only getting ~30% of the primary votes." etc not to mention, the media totally out to smear him every chance they get. except this time, its all the media, not just the liberal fellas. the more the media freaked out over everything trump said, the more popular he got. i can definitely see something similar happening.
You could be right. Especially if there is a good percentage mods/independents/republicans that against Trump by voting for Bernie. Especially in the States of WI,Penn, Mich and of course OH. Trump won because the Dems brought forth a terrible candidate, period. Some of my dem Friends voted for Trump versus the Black Widow even though I tried to talk the into voting for neither.
Polls say otherwise. Name me another Democratic candidate who excites their voters to the same degree. Name me another candidate who could genuinely poach some Trump voters. (Remember: Bernie beat Hillary in Michigan before Trump did.)
Just remember, there was a great king - and in the lineage of Jesus - who was also a an adulterer, a terrible father, a murderer, and even danced in the streets in his underwear. Interestingly, Jesus said he was also a man after his own heart...so obviously he was forgiven...and forgiven greatly. Many of our Presidents had great shortcomings in their personal lives. I wonder to what degree they were (are) forgiven.
