It'll be a homecoming for Simons in Orlando, but after sustaining an ankle sprain in the previous game, the question now isn't how he will play, but if.

As for the team itself, the Blazers' chances of making the Playoffs look slimmer and slimmer, like an anoerexic supermodel.

Lillard might be coming back from injury soon, but will it be too late by then?

CJ playing like a all star right now and we are 1-6 without Dame. Little needs to play more, Trent is getting better every game, they just need time to develop and because of the injures they are having time.
Blazers needs to win at least one at this road trip

Well, we have experience playing without essential players. That's a positive......

No reason for a needless win here. Let a couple of non-descript Magic go off for career highs. That won't seem out of the norm and we can get closer to that 25% chance of getting into the Top 4.

Where they sit right now and it doesn't look like it will change much. They have 93% chance of the #13th pick. About 1% chance of any of the top 4. 2% of #14.
Looks like if they went full on TANK they could get it down where the #11 or #10 could be possible but highly unlikely they get much better than #12 at this point regardless.

Much higher than 1% of being in the Top 4 even just at their current #12. But it gets quite a bit better just by moving up a few spots.

The Blazers have quiet moved from #14 to #12 in the Lottery rankings. That might not seem like a large move, but their chances of moving into the Top-4 have gone from:

#14 - 2.4%
#13 - 4.7%
#12 - 7.2% (3x greater at #12 than #14)
#11 - 10.4%
#10 - 13.9%
#9 -- 20.3% (This is where the first big jump occurs)
#8 -- 26.2% (That is the absolute highest Portland could get on their own IMO....but very unlikley)

The Blazers are within 3 losses of the #8 spot which would give them a 26.2% chance of getting into the Top-4. That is nothing to sneeze at. No time for silly, useless wins at this point.

T A N K ! ! ! !

Standings looking good after every lost. We should get that lottery pick

How do you guys deal with this season actually? Do you take a break from the Blazers or nba in general? This season and especially the last few games really hit me hard because my heart is with the Blazers and watching the games without 4 key players and you realize they have no chance is depressing af. Man fuck this season. There has to be a light at the end of the tunnel???

Imagine having to watch EVERY second no matter what?

I look for things that will help the Blazers long term. That's why since this is a lost season by definition in the 'short term', what can be gained in the 'long term'. Which is why I want to see as much of Trent, Simons, Little, Gabriel and Hoard as much as possible.

I think I'm pretty much watching out of habit.
This season has been a total Twilight Zone episode.
"Imagine if you will a team with high hopes and valid expectations...."
I still believe the roster is there, if it ever could be, there.
Missing Nurk really killed this team.
I honestly believe he is the most important cog in the machine, and I can't wait till next year to see if that's true.

I watch the younger guys like Trent and Simons. But I always was bigger fan of Trent then I was Simons. Trent improvement been really good in his 2nd year but he stay in Portland most of the summer working on his game. Simons might try to follow that plan this summer. Simons has to get stronger by next year because that will help him on D and the offense. But I am afraid he doesn't he just might become a bust and I am not hoping that I want him to succeed but really going be up to him.

Like I did my whole life until I joined the team?
Haven't you been with the team for quite awhile now? Back in the day it was impossible to watch every game since they weren't all on TV.

You enjoy watching the young players develop and you just focus on one game at a time. You take solace in the fact that the more we lose, the better chance we have at a top 4 pick. And of course, you entertain yourself by watching Blazers Uprise coverage.

Sly, I tried.
So, how long have you been with the Blazers? I dont think anyone is saying you havent watched the team as a fan through good or bad. I think its just part of being a fan we all go through the ups and downs together, the downs we spend yelling at each other on message boards, the ups we spend yelling at each other through message boards.

Well, If that's your reaction after not even a full season of suckage, it's probably a good thing you're not a Kings fan ! Or I guess after so many season they are all numb to sucking and it's actually harder for us ?

To answer you question, I do still watch every game but I don't get as into them as the prior seasons. Hard to be fired up when I'm not even sure I want the Blazers to win.
As other have said, the most interesting part right now is watching how the young guys develop, which is why Stotts' shit rotations and sub decisions are especially unbearable this season.
