<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Mavericks are now two-for-two in re-signing their own free agents. Devean George, who opted out of the final year of his contract at the end of last season, agreed to rejoin the Mavs on Sunday, according to an NBA source.Terms of the deal were not immediately known, but it's expected that George will sign at least a two-year contract on Wednesday, the first day teams can put pen to paper and make agreements official. The 6-foot-8 swingman was due a little more than $2 million next season had he not opted out. His new deal is expected to be in that ballpark.George's agent, Mark Bartelstein, was not available for immediate comment.George was in the midst of a fine season last year until a knee injury forced him out for much of the second half. He played in 60 games and started 17. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds and 21.4 minutes a game.George is known for his steady defense, and coach Avery Johnson liked his size at the shooting guard position while using him to defend some of the league's top players like Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady. The agreement with George comes days after the Mavericks reached terms with sixth man Jerry Stackhouse, who will sign on for another three years for about $21 million. The Mavs still have cards to play in free agency. They have the midlevel exception that is expected to be valued at about $6 million. They also have a $1.83 million exception. Both exceptions can be used to sign one or more players.Free agents still on the Mavs' radar include P.J. Brown (Chicago), James Posey (Miami), Matt Barnes (Golden State) and possibly Mickael Pietrus (Golden State).</div>So far, I must say this has been boring. Now with Stack and George back on board. If the Mavs plan to keep Fazekas and Terry from the draft, we have a full 15 man roster. Do we stay intact? The article mentions and of course our management has stated we do plan to add other players through free agency. So that means one of the young guns or Buckner/Benga may be packing their pags to make room. I still like PJ Brown, hence why Benga may not be with us if he's signed. And add to that, a possible wing being brought in to a deep rotation as is with Howard/Stackhouse/George/both Terry's/Ager/Buckner. Buckner to me is the odd man out.At least now, with our own free agents signed, we can I don't know hear some news worthwhile regarding a free agent not on our own team. You're killing me Cubes.

I had heard that George was going to be gone, but I don't mind seeing him back. I wish he would have shown up in the playoffs, but really none of our players did aside from JHo and Stack at times. I don't care to see Buckner back... maybe he does things that I don't notice, but he seems pretty invisible out there on the court.

I was thinking it was around 50/50 on Mavs keeping George. But I thought I read that George wanted to leave a while back, I'm not sure though. In a way I was leaning towards Mavs letting George go. I was really hoping they would shop the free agents this offseason. Now that George is still here it seems there would be no room to go pick up a guy or two, also with Faz and Rey under the radar. Screw that Renaldas Seabiscuit guy. Not really much of an offseason we have here. Very basic, draft and resign. I think PJ Brown should still be a serious option to bring in. If Mavs get PJ, it's probably quits after that. Also I've been thinking Mavs should extend Harris. We could always trade Ager for a Fuzzy Navel

^I'll settle for a Barnes/Brown offseason. I think would give us a 10 man rotation and the rest of the roster would be the 5 younguns'. This is without Benga and Buck though. But I still expect Mavs to look for a starting SF and backup PF still. When they get that done, I think they'll move on to cutting the roster down.

I don't mind George coming back, be it for a year or two.I just don't want to go through another season where old guys player(George, Buck, and to a lesser extent Stack, who should play) and the young guys rot.I remember two years ago, Rawle Marshell and Powell and Daniels all had tons of playing time, especially late in the season, and it helped them, plus the Mavs parlayed that into trades in the offseason.I want to see Ager on the floor more, I think the kid can play, AND JJB for sure...he's been playing lights out in the Summer league. Plus I'd like to see Pops get some playing time as well as the draftees Zekas and Terry...if they're all on the roster, lol.

The main thing is to keep Harris. I'm glad we got back George though. My 3rd favorite off the bench after Harris and Diop.
