Both these teams are 9th in their respective Conferences, hoping to squeeze into the Playoff picture. So you can expect a hard-fought game here.

The Blazers will have the advantage of homecourt, not to mention the fact that the Wizards will be on a 2nd night of a back-to-back (and the 4th game of a 4-game road trip).

However, the Wizards have been playing .500 ball in their past 10 games (Portland has been playing .300 ball during that time), so don't expect Washington to just roll over. One guy on Washington's roster to keep an eye on is Bradley Beal, who's been on an absolute tear, scoring 25+ points in 18 straight games (he's had several 40+ point games, and a couple fiddy-burgers). He's the type of player that gives Portland's defense fits.

The X-factor for the Blazers is the possible return of Lillard, who has missed 6 straight games. This would be a much-needed boost for Portland this game and for the rest of the season if they want a legitimate shot at making the post-season.

Over the past couple weeks, the Blazers have failed to gain any ground on Memphis for the 8th seed, and they are quickly running out of time, so this feels like a must-win.

Win this one for Portland fans and keep our Playoffs hopes alive!

Our old friend Napier will be on the court. Surely, we can beat the woeful Wizards.

Melo's potential return depends on his predetermined role. If it's more of the same where we simply expect to feed him 5-10 post ups per game and free reign on defense for 30 mpg, no thanks. If he's OK with ~20 mpg with some touches on offense while serving more as a release valve, sure why not. We can give him the Noah Vonleh Honorary Starter role.

That said, I think he becomes unplayable in the playoffs with his defense, so what's really the point? Teams are already attacking him every chance they get-- he'd be an even bigger target in a playoff series.

Ive never been on the tank bandwagon until that Atl loss. I hate losing. I hate watching my teams lose, but it seems like this season just needs to die. I spent all season thinking Nurks gonna come back and that’ll be what gets me excited now Im pretty sure he’s got more wrong with him then they’re telling us. This season...

I guess I haven't been paying close enough attentiontto the Nurk stuff. Outside of the calf injury, what else is going on?

Who the heck knows but a grade one calf sprain is a week, and its been a month. He says he needs practice time there is no timetable.

Olshey said he'd be "the best mid-season acquistition" but they're obviously doing their very best to lower expectations, so I can't figure out what's going on either.

In the playoffs it's good to have different options for different matchups. You never know who's going to be effective in each round.

Of course we should win - I don't know why, but the Wizards annoy me more than most eastern teams - probably because we've lost so many games to them that were also games we should have won.

Dame usually struggles on his first game back after being off. Not expecting much tonight
