There is a much better chance that we knock the Lakers out of the playoffs than there is of us getting the #1 pick.
Shaq was swept out of the playoffs in 5 of his first 6 playoffs: 1994- swept out of first round by Pacers 1995- swept out of NBA Finals by Rockets 1996- swept out of ECF by Bulls 1997- lost in second round to Jazz in 5 1998- swept out of the WCF by the Jazz 1999- swept out of the second round by the Spurs His legacy ain't bad, right? And in WCF last season, Dame was hurt (separated rib). If Dame was healthy, we win 1 or 2 games at least.
Do we have a source for "Believe Harder"? From my end, it was a little girl holding a sign that said that during the 2003 playoff series vs the Mavs. I adopted it as my playoff catchphrase on this board. Did the little girl make it up or was there another source she got it from?
Exactly. And the Lakers' weakness all season has been against teams with dynamic guards. We just happen to have two of the most dynamic guards in the league and if Collins comes back, we have the bigs to hang with their bigs.
Isn’t everything circumstantial? The worse our season gets, the less likely we’ll perform well in the playoffs. I’ve always had hope that we would turn this season around. However, now that there’s only 20 or so games left, I just don’t see it anymore.
Maybe next year it does. This year they'll both be so rusty that their presence will probably make the team even less effective.
and the league really has a boner for Zion vs LeBron. Let them have that. Don't need to be the sacrificial lamb.
Rachel Nichols has explicitly said she looks at Lebron differently now and thinks he has way more on his shoulders and deserves MVP for his handling of the stuff after Kobe. Just rubs me wrong to realize this.
Yeah, that's why the league has "rigged" it so New Orleans lost 3 in a row and are 5-5 over their last 10.
The energy that these "experts" use to come up with new ways to justify their obsession with LeBron is laughable. That is not taking away from his insane talent and arguably one of the top 3 players to ever play...but "the first laker since Kobe" to win it.. Yes I get it, Kobe died...but there are other players in the league.
Nope. While the schedule sets up nicely and they will likely go on another run, this team is just too inconsistent and struggle to win away from the Rose City. If I had to guess, we win 5 of the next 6 at home but that 6 game road trip to close out March will halt our playoff hopes. I'm honestly at a loss right now. We get Dame back. Nurk announces his return in 9 days. We are playing the hapless Suns without key players. And we put up one of the most uninspiring performances of the season with so much riding on the game. I just don't get it ... And we're too good and too competitive to move up in the draft lottery standings. Even though it's a weak draft, it's beyond frustrating.
