I don't know the precise statistics on that nor do I care since they don't pertain to the logic but I do know that there are a surprising number of death row inmates who actually encourage a speedy death at the hands of the law. My opposition to the death penalty has to do with my moral beliefs. Once we have these criminals in custody, they can do no further harm then executing the death penalty becomes an issue of anger management. Should I need to take a life at a moments notice in order to save another life, I would do it. But to take a life that I already hold goes against everything in my religious upbringing that I hold dear and is needless.
The governor is a hard line forced birther who, the day before signing another execution, signed a bill to outlaw all abortion, proclaiming every fertilized egg is sacred, a precious gift from god. Born humans not so much. For the record I am opposed to death penalty. With the exception of a few Catholic pacifists, forced birthers overwhelmingly love death penalty, more guns, war, and sending back desperate refugees fleeing extreme violence.
