Last year we saw Deron Williams break out and prove he was worthy of being picked ahead of chris paul. Who will break out of the sophomores this season?
Im not going to be a homer and say Bargnani but you should consider him for obvious reasons. However, if I were to pick one, it would be aldridge. Hes had a great summer league so far, and he looks to be pretty solid coming into the this season. Its not far fetched for him to average 15 and 10 this year. Aldridge will now be a regular in the starting lineup along with Oden and Roy, and would be getting regular touches as well in that offense.

He is doing quite well in summer league and he averaged 14.7 ppg and 8 rpg last march when he finally got the starting job.
Dont remind me about aldridge, I was the number one supporter of the bulls drafting him last year(look up my old posts) and what do they do? Draft him and TRADE HIM! We've made some good moves lately but that sure as hell wasnt one of them.
Keep your eyes on Marcus Williams. Jason Kidd is getting older, and as the seasons go by, he can't have as many minutes as he did the previous years.Boobie Gibson will get a ton more minutes in the regular season after his performance in the playoffs.Adam Morrison will have another slumping year. Gerald Wallace didn't demand a ton of shots, and now he is gone, but Jason Richardson is in town, and he will score a ton more than Wallace. Morrison's amount of touches will drop.

I doubt he could do any worse, so he has to get better.Renaldo Balkman - a guy I liked watching on the Knicks, and I think he's only going to get better...I think he could be a 10/5/2/2 guy in the future, I really do.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (PrimeTime @ Jul 9 2007, 11:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Adam morrison isnt THAT bad he did put up 12 ppg as a rookie.</div>He was also inconsistent beyond belief to the point where he was hurting the team more than helping them on most nights, and I think we all know that he's incapable of guarding anybody. I think he will improve, I think he'll be a solid player, but he had a very disappointing rookie season. It will also be tough for him to have a huge year next year with Jason Richardson in town. It's tough to say who is gonna "break out." You'd think most of these guys will truly break out in year 3 or 4. But if we're just talking about who we think should have a better year than last year, look for Ronnie Brewer, Rajon Rondo, and Shannon Brown to do so.Also, I just want to stay that I still stand by what I said a year ago: Toronto should have taken Aldridge #1, and Chicago shouldn't have traded his rights.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MaRdYC26 @ Jul 9 2007, 11:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>How has Barginani been? Haven't heard a thing about the guy.</div>He hasnt been anything special. Hes a good shooter but like I said the guy is 7 foot tall and cant rebound for his life. He is also a poor defensive player. Everyone last year said ''you dont know what your talking about'' and here we are today.
JJ Reddick, I think that if he gets some playing time, he will be scoring a lot. The defense will have to pressure Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis, and you always have to watch out for the volatile Jameer Nelson, so JJ Reddick will get a lot of open looks to do what he does best: chuch 3s. But that all depends on how much playing time he gets. If I were Van Gundy I'd start Reddick, but, yeah..
Rudy Gay:Rudy looks like hes on a mission. Hes extremely aggressive, his shot is looking very good and might improve from a "not-to-shabby" 36% he shot as a rookie. Its been reported hes added somewhere from 10-20lbs of bulk, and hes still very fast for a 6'9 player. In a structured uptempo style, hes going to get alotve high percentage shots(aka dunks). His post game has been improving since the beginning of last season, and it should be a area he can use when everything isnt clicking from the outside. Given more minutes, hes going to rack up alotve blocks and steals probably averaging something like 1.5spg and 1.5bpg.People are going to say this is a homer post...but whatever and I really see Rudy breaking out next season.
Rudy Gay was pretty good last year, but this year he will step up. Gay's one of my top 5 favorite players and will prove all those dipshit's in the media wrong. He's one of the quickest 6'8" players in the league. JJ Redick and Ronnie Brewer will get more PT and make more of an impact as well.

He also averaged more rebounds than him in the first round against a weaker Washington team. Hes also the 2nd best player in this draft which is abit above 'nothing special' than you make him sound to be.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (playaofthegame @ Jul 9 2007, 09:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Lamarcus Aldridge. With Randolph gone he's gonna be one of the go to guys on the offense.</div>He will defiently play well next season. Even though Frye and him will be splitting a good amount of minutes, I wouldnt be surprised to see Aldridge get a solid 15ppg next season. His shotblocking is very underrated too...his rebounds may be a bit low though around 6 or 7 rebounds a game.

And one playoff series does not make a player a greater rebounder. secondly, I never said anything about anderson varejo. Bargnani was not the second best player in this draft by a long-shot. Even if your judging by impact of rookie seasons I would take him 4-5 but as far as complete basketball players of the 06 draft he will not even likely be in the top 8. He isnt a terrible player but worthy of the number one pick? No.
1. Lamarcus Aldridge for all the reasons already stated.2. Brandon Roy. I think he can average 20 ppg next year. Blazers are gonna need it now that they lost 23 and 10 w/ Z-bo.Unless bargnani starts pwning, I firmly believe blazers got the two best players in the draft.

I think Aldridge has alotve potential, but I dont think Roy is going to be a every season all-star or anything. I think hes going to be a solid 18ppg or so for the rest of his career. Ive always said the '06 draft wont be appreciated until a couple seasons...I think Foye, Gay, Bargnani, and Thomas all have potential to become better than Roy.
