The people who are going to be most affected by this are service industry personnel and hourly workers.
It's way too early to be aggressive. I'm planning on waiting until just before a vaccine comes out which would be sometime in late February to early October of 2021.
They were for a minute last week. https://www.cntraveler.com/story/alaska-airlines-is-offering-99-one-way-flights-to-hawaii more likely around 300 right now. I think I got mine around that price, but I bought right before the brief airfare wars. Got hotel in may at the hilton garden inn waikiki for like $105 a night. Got round trip flight to san jose for like 98 bucks on a weekend next month too. Deals could be had. The San Jose flight is on SWA, so I can cancel that if it gets bad. Pretty similar to when the economy crashed after the housing bubble popped. I flew RT from LA to Honolulu for $230.
I think that's to long. I'm waiting to see how it affects the economy once it's full blown. My thoughts are that once it's everywhere then life will return to semi normal, people don't want to be locked up forever and for most people the illness doesn't seem that bad. I would stay away from a few industries for a while though, like travel related. Trick will be to beat the vaccine, once that is announced we will see a huge surge. I'm looking at 1-4 months before I get serious again.
By most accounts, there won't be a vaccine for another year or so and even then, much like flu vaccines, the effectiveness is uncertain. This will be a global recession, if that's what it becomes.
What a dipshit this guy is. Who are the idiots in florida that continue to vote for him? He was on Air Force One with Trump today as well where he self quarantined in the back of the plane. L.M.A.O.
>>>> Meanwhile, my Congressman posted this on his site: The House of Representatives and Senate have passed extensive, bipartisan legislation to stem the threat of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, and help fund the development of new testing, prevention and treatment methods. “I am pleased to support and vote for this $8.3 billion emergency appropriations bill to provide an added infusion of funding to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies already working to protect US citizens,” said Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) the ranking member of the House subcommittee on global health. “This comprehensive bill, and the widespread support it received, will help expedite funding for testing, prevention and treatment,” Smith said. “Prevention is, as they say, worth a pound of cure, and the better we can prevent and contain COVID-19 from spreading, the less impact it will have on our communities.” The House approved the measure, HR 6074, the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020, in a 415-2 vote Wednesday night. The Senate passed the House bill 96-1 Thursday. It now heads to President Trump for his signature and final enactment.
