    TRAIL BLAZERS ASSIGN JUSUF NURKIC TO SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS


    PORTLAND, Ore. (March 11, 2020) –The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned center Jusuf Nurkic to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G League, it was announced today by president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.


    Nurkic, who is recovering from a left leg fracture, will practice with the team in Santa Cruz today and then return to Portland. He will be accompanied by members of the Trail Blazers coaching and health and performance staffs.

    does this seem a little confusing?

    he was supposedly scheduled to play Sunday, and there are 3 days between the Memphis game Thursday and the game Sunday. Time for practice then?

    Nurk himself talked about going to Sac for a practice or two. This 'assignment' to the g-league is just a procedural thing. It keeps everything compliant in case Nurk gets injured or more likely injures another player during practice.

    Well, we don't have many players to have practice against him as our starters need rest, not practice at this stage.
