Gabe Kahn is reporting from the Vegas Summer League that the Celtics have signed Brandon Wallace. No terms released yet. Summer League stats: 6 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 1 steal per game, 0.5 blocks per game, 56% shootingThis doesn't neccesarily mean he'll make the final roster come preaseason but he'll be with us for training camp. But this definitely is a nice signing. He looks like a very nice prospect. A SF who can play inside and outside. :dribble:
I like Brandon Wallace, and I love what he has done in summer league. I would take him over Allan Ray, especially based on our needs. This contract gets him to training camp but I don't know if he goes any further than that. We'll see.
I personally like allan ray, but I dont think he is developing quick enough though. can u guys cut allan ray and let him develop in the d-league, then sign him maybe a year later when hes ready?I dont think assigning him to dleaugue will help since that still takes up roster space right?

The thing about this is that Danny Ainge requested an extra month to decide on Allan Ray's team option, and he was given the extension, so with the signing of Brandon Wallace it will be interesting to see if he picks up the option or not. Some think he did that because he has a deal in line, but you can never expect a deal to happen this early, so we'll see. I would rather have Brandon Wallace, though, and so would roughly 85% of the fans.
UPDATE 8:58 PM EST<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LAS VEGAS ? The Celtics have signed undrafted free agent Brandon Wallace to a contract. The deal was completed in the last hour.Wallace, who has very much impressed the basketball staff after being moved to small forward during practice last week, will get a two-year deal. There was some urgency to the signing, in that Wallace was unrestricted and free to go where he wanted after not being selected on June 28. But both sides very much wanted to get a deal done, and there was that expectation from the time Danny Ainge began talking to agent Eric Fleisher over the weekend.</div>

I like the style of play and energy Wallace brings to the game. I would also rather have him on the roster than Ray. Wallace seems like he could develop into a nice player.
Wallace really brings some energy.. He's a freak athlete, good defender, but he's a bit raw offensively.. He would fit perfectly in an up-tempo offense, not so sure how he'll do with the C's..
I need to see some summer league games to actually say something about him. Anyway I can watch both games from my computer?

This may be a reach but here's an interesting bit.http://southcarolina.scout.com/a.z?s=184&a...&refid=4781After watching him have an up and down career in Columbia I would've guessed a career in Europe was in store for Wallace. Wallace signed with Eric Fleisher (Kevin Garnett's agent) and has put together a nice run so far for the Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League.
