    I manage a kitchen for a restaurant/bowling center

we had over 40 employeees and cut almost everyone. The owner chose 10 employees to give around 30hrs/week to do projects that have been needed to be done.

luckily, I’m one of those few but I have a feeling this is going to last longer than 4 week. Which at that point Idk what will happen

It's probably not what you're looking for but in the Hillsboro / Cornelius area I've seen grocery stores basically begging people to take jobs with them. Fred Meyers, Costco I've seen a lot of. If I see others I'll post them.

HCP, I am sorry this is affecting you so harshly. I feel for anyone and everyone who is being overly stressed over this. One thing you can probably take comfort in is that you are not alone, this is affecting a lot of people, which means there will be help because we cant afford to let everyone fail.

Currently I am doing ok, but this is bound to cost me my job also. I do recruiting and currently there is no plans to hire so I am out, the writing is on the wall. I am disabled so I dont have much prospects for other jobs. Because of my years service I have a big safety net to fall back on, which means I will probably be medically retired within the year, once the system plays out. I am greatfull for my safety net and at the same time feel terrible that our system is set up that most people dont have this luxury. The unfortunate part for me is that I could work for another 5 or 10 years in my current position before my disability is makes that too hard, but now I wont have that option.

Update: my son comes home from LA tomorrow. School closed, laid off from job. Wife thought he’d be better up here with us.

This is California specific, but may be applicable in other areas.

If you get the corona virus, you may qualify for disability benefits.

...and I hope you know I was totally jiving up there at the top of this thread. I figured you may get a little laugh out of it. I guess others in here thought I was way out of line. Certainly didn't mean to be. But anyway, yeah, hope you and yours are making the very best of things. I know you're strong.

On a side note, been a real struggle for many here in Nashville, too, as this coronavirus came right on the heels of the devastating tornado that swept through our fair city. Crazy times.

Could be worse. Could be nominal. Numbers are stats. The percentage of re covered people is a large chunk of the equation. That's what gives me hope no matter what numbers we will face. Wish both of you good fortune.

Heart to Tennessee! We had Sandy in o12 and I thought that was completely FUBAR but this COVID-19 is very strange. I heard today three people in my County (Mercer) have it.

So DoD requirements seems to mean my job is safe and not only that we were basically told that we needed all hands on deck only a few can work at home at my place of employment. You never know though.

Mainly wanted to say anyone looking for a job Amazon Warehouses are hiring. My mother in law went in and applied for just stocking the warehouse yesterday her first day of work is tomorrow morning.

Perhaps, you missed the rest of the sentiments, but that's OK.

Statement From the Portland Trail Blazers

To assist game night employees impacted by the NBA’s postponement, Jody Allen and the Portland Trail Blazers are committing more than $1.4M towards COVID-19 relief efforts. This includes paying part-time Rose Quarter employees for nine postponed Trail Blazers games.

Just hearing about this. Unfortunately THE HCP is not a part-time Rose Quarter Employee. Just got an email from my boss and trying to figure this all out.......
