This is a situation where the last thing our president should be doing is trolling.

Should we start calling xenophobic stereotypes "Tennessee Slang?"

    We need a wartime president.

    We have a wartime president.

We have a medieval wartime president that prepared for the war by trying to build a wall around his castle.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) - this is not medieval times.

    Vote better, people.

Oh, I know, but people are not going to change the way they think or post because someone else thinks they should...just sayin'.

So what are people doing when they need a haircut? Should I risk it or give myself a bad one?

Don't skin me alive for asking this question:

How would Hillary have handled this outbreak?

I got one last Friday so I'm looking sharp. I'm not going to shave my face for a while though, hoping for a real thick beard when we come out of this.

I suspect that at the very least there would not have been that large a turnover in the administration - so the people that were at the original 2017 pandemic exercise during the administration change-over would have at least been familiar with the subject and not caught with their pants down.

She would have snuck into its jail cell and killed it.

    See Jeffrey Epstein for example.

We cant know for sure. My guess though is that prior to the epidemic she would have maintained the pandemic response team. She would have started preparing for the outbreak in December or Jan, when it was becoming obvious that it would not be contained to China. She would have not called it the "Chinese Virus", she probably would have golfed a lot less also.

Looks like 18 months at the earliest, according to the people actually working on vaccines, as per the article. Often a new vaccine, which this qualifies as, takes years due to testing and regulatory barriers.

Sure. Like I said, I think he is an idiot on many levels. Doesn't mean I have to hang and freak on everything he says and does, like some do.

Do I agree with him not using the consensus name for the vcirus"? No. Do I freak out? no. But you do have a good point. If our leader doesnt take it serious, then how can he expect the public to .

I don't care what Trump calls the virus, but what they say about the "wet markets" is true - animals in cages are stacked on top of other animals in cages, and all varieties of blood, guts, and shit puddle up on the floor (the inhumane treatment of these animals is the major problem here, but that issue requires it's own post). China is not the only country in the world with lax hygiene standards, but the scale of the problem in China is astounding. Don't ever forget that we are in the middle of a pandemic because the Chinese government doesn't care to enact and enforce reasonable health and hygiene standards. They have the power to do this, but they don't.

Right now in the US, the death rate is at 1.48% which is still more than we want but it's a good trend. World wide the trend isn't that great though it's actually gone up to about 10%. Some interesting things I've been keeping an eye out is that our "recovered" rate seems to be super low. The other good trend though is that serious/critical cases has gone down to 5% - This might not be good I guess depending on if they were upgraded to mild or passed... Hopefully, they get mass testing done and get a better handle on all of this.

She works in a major university hospital.

She said they were very lax about the whole situation and didn't seem to take it seriously. The nurses and workers are pissed but the hospital administration seems to be taking things really lightly. She found out "through the grapevine" and not the administration. They were keeping as much of it as quiet as they could.

The systems are totally fucked. Everyday citizens are taking this more seriously than the system at large.
