Maybe you're right and people are getting the message. At the skate park today it was down to about 100 people there, granted this was around 10 this morning so the skater crowd might still have been in bed.

What was particularly awesome was the group of about 30 adults that were all sitting/standing together with no social distancing.

This is old news - the UK has since figured out that that was a really stupid approach that would kill a lot of people and has reversed direction.

Yes, and no... Ive been going over the numbers everyday at least per that site and the trend does look good. Of course more data is better, but we have to use the number we have.

My theory is a little different. I figure most people over the age of 30 will follow social distancing policies, while most of those under that age won’t. Send only those under 30 to Florida for the biggest beach party in history. Don’t allow them to come home until they have tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently have had two clear tests. We’re also going to need a whole lot of antibiotics for the STDs, but that’s a lesser problem.

It could very well work in conjunction with Chloroquine, but that french study had only 22 people (and only 10 who received the combo) and none of them were people with pre-existing cardiac conditions. Taking an antibiotic without prior validation of the is dangerous, especially for already vulnerable populations. I am in this industry, if it were that simple the FDA would have already approved this.

It's not even novel. It's what happened before modern medicine and before people knew what spread diseases (bubonic plague was blamed on Jews, guess no Chinese in Europe). Of course a lot of people died in the process. Successive waves of plague killed off about a third of Europe's population; no one knows how many died of smallpox. And to date untreated HIV is very close to 100% lethal. Yeah, very stupid idea.

The plan proposed by Moscow Mitch gives $1200 to people with certain incomes (from 2018, not now) one time. But people could be out of work for months. No provision for those who lose health insurance when they lose their job. People with incomes under $40K per year will get from nothing to $600. Small businesses get loans; big corporations get bailouts. So my local bicycle store and ice cream parlor get a loan they have to pay back while United Airlines and MacDonald's are handed billions in taxpayer money with no conditions. Lobbyists are lining up for a piece of the pie. May add hotel bailout, including Trump hotels. Not yet certain. So very typically middle class gets pittance, poor get shit, and big companies get giant handouts.

This is the equivalent of a full basketball game being played but you're only allowed to see the score and stats after the first minute but then presenting it like the team that was up 4-3 after that minute won the game and the player with 3 points is the leading scorer in the NBA.

    The numbers mean absolutely nothing.

I’m only reporting what the theory is. The malaria drug helps zinc prevent the virus from replicating. The antibiotic treats secondary lung infections. More testing is obviously needed. I don’t take medical advice from Trump. I’ll leave it to the professionals to figure out how to use this information.

A story barely covered. A British cruise ship was in the Caribbean when some passengers became ill with COVID-like symptoms. They tried numerous ports of call but Bermuda, Bahamas, Dominican Republic all said no. Cuba allowed the ship to dock and started testing everyone. They said they would treat anyone who is sick. If fucking Cuban can test and treat a boatload of foreigners to whom they have no obligation, why the fuck can't this country test health care workers?

Well, have you seen 1st quarter stats before cause they do mean something. Never said it was all encompassing, but in this case if thats your attitude than literally none of the numbers matter because no one has a full set of numbers not any one...

Oh and honestly you know how I know your analogy is garbage? Ive literally been checking those numbers almost everyday for two weeks and been posting them most days as the numbers change. I never once claimed they showed the entire picture, but they do show an encouraging trend. Its more like checking the score every 5 minutes and seeing the trend the game if the Blazers were up 2, then 4, then 5, the. 7, etc. It doesnt mean they won but it would be a good trend that as a fan we’d like to see even if it was in the 1st quarter.

I totally get that we have to use the data we have. But data can't suggest what isn't collected. Once it can, it's gonna boom.
