the Olympics are being postponed and Sabrina Ionescu was named national player of the year https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/20...-ap-womens-basketball-player-of-the-year.html
I'm glad they postponed the Olympics. Athletes would not have been at their best. Too many more important things to deal with right now.
Does the olympics being postponed have any effect on the new track and field complex being built in Eugene? Not sure where the olympic track and field trials were going to be this year.
As i understand they were supposed to be in Eugene. I do not have any information on what is planned other than this. https://www.kgw.com/article/sports/...oned/283-bfa70b91-95d3-4a05-91f5-78ce39d524e4 Sounds like they have now been postponed now that the Olympics have been postponed. Everything jumping back a year.
EUGENE, Ore. — The U.S. Olympic track and field trials are going to be rescheduled because of the postponement of the 2020 summer games to next year. The trials were set to be held at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon from June 19-28. The TrackTown USA local organizing committee made the announcement in a prepared statement Tuesday. The statement from TrackTown CEO Michael Reilly said, in part, "TrackTown USA is now working with our partners at USA Track & Field and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee on rescheduling the U.S. Olympic Team Trials."
Now as far as building the complex goes? That will continue to fall under state guidelines for social distancing and essential work? As of now they are working but if the Gov shuts them down they will drop their tools and go home.
