<span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%">Report: Artest Says He Wants To Retire With Kings</span><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ron Artest told the New York Post that he wants to remain with Sacramento and retire as a King. Artest's comments contradicted statements his agent made last week, indicating that his client, a Queens native who attended St. John's, wanted to return home."I really want to finish my career in Sacramento because of my relationship with some of the players," Artest said, according to the Post. "I want to finish with Sacramento. I feel attached to Sacramento. I want to be their franchise player."Artest also said he was told by Kings general manager Geoff Petrie that he would not be traded, and Artest told Petrie he probably would not opt out of his contract after next season, the Post reported."Ron is going to be a King," Petrie said Monday, denying he has had any conversations with the Knicks' front office. "People are having conversations with themselves."</div>-RealGM<span style="font-family:Tahoma">If the Kings accept this and not trade him, then this obviously means Mike Bibby is gonna be dealt. Cleveland could talk with them about a deal, again, and Miami could also be a team that could jump in the Bibby talk.</span>
Don't believe anything Ron Artest says, he also said he wouldn't mind going back to the Pacers and retiring as a Pacer. Artest is crazy.
Ron Artest is so damn emo/bipolar...He will opt out next year when his attitude flips to 'retarded' again then he will sign with someone else. I wouldn't believe anything he says, or any other player when they repeat that phrase for that matter.
Talking to the media when you're getting all emotional is like going grocery shopping when you're starving. It might be what you want right now, but when you start feeling normal again, you're gonna regret it.
No one here should believe that Ron Artest will stay to his word after a year. You never know what's going to happen with Artest, Bibby, and the Kings after this year. All this means is that the Heat and the Knicks may decide not to pursue Artest this season.
Another wacky comment by Ron Artest. He's had such an illustrious, successful, and memorable career in Sac Town....
Maybe he does want to retire a King. But the question is do the Kings want his craziness for that long?
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...est_backtracks/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One day after saying he would not exercise the opt-out in his contract next season, Ron Artest seemed to reverse himself. "I mean I like it, but who knows?" Artest said about the city of Sacramento. "I'm not going to put myself in a position where I say, yeah, I want to stay here all the time. I trust my agent." Artest also talked about the attention surrounding a possible return home to New York. "All the people in New York want it, it's been eight years (since I left St. John's) and it's always like, 'When's Ron coming back?' That makes me feel good," Artest said.</div> :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA:
