I don't think we know when the peak is, I think they're being optimistic and guessing under the best case scenario.

Especially since there is a good chance we will think it's over only to have another re-occurrence of it. I think it's the administration being naively optimistic.

If you'd prefer not to watch the fucking video I'll recap it. Dr. Fauci says that the Corona virus is a hoax orchestrated by the Democrats and there is nothing to worry about, but yeah it's true the whole thing is actually real, but there are only 15 cases, but those will go down to nothing soon, but even so don't worry because it's gonna wash over us anyway and will simply go away when the weather warms up, and Trump knows this because I taught him everything he knows. You are welcome in advance for this recap everyone.

what I have seen is people talking about models, and there are no national models, only state models; and even then the models seem to be more for urban areas. New York is unfortunately higher on the curve than other areas, but they aren't at the apex yet. Cuomo said some models show the apex for NY being one week away while other models show it being 3 weeks away. Meanwhile Seattle has supposedly passed their apex

apparently, a lot of credibility is being assigned to models put out by the U of Washington Medical school since they have the most data from Seattle's battle with the virus.

it seems a lot of people are not understanding the meaning of flattening the curve. The US could do a great job of flattening the curve (not much of a chance at this point). The thing is, the US could have 20 million infected in the 17 months (guess) till there's a vaccine. That' could be 20 million with or without a flattened curve. The goal isn't so much to reduce the number infected (bonus) but rather prevent 10 million being infected and symptomatic in a 2 month surge completely crashing the system.

in other words, we could ride over the crest of the wave, be on the downhill slope, and still see millions more infected and thousands more deaths. This is not going to be over by June, unless it's June 2021

This is a worldwide pandemic and a national emergency. Instead of picking at and insulting each other maybe we can share information, advice, help, support and a few laughs. We have so many threads that devolve into anger and BS. Can we just all try our best to leave each other alone and get through this together.

    Please.

"obviously you need to take it seriously and do the things that the CDC recommends."

"this is not something right now (2.5 months ago, mind you) this is not something we should be worried about."

Do you want me to post the million other videos of him showing alarm literally weeks after this?

or do you prefer i post the video of uncle donald calling it a hoax?

Not sure i get the point of this callout.

US records 1,497 virus deaths in 24 hours - the highest single-day toll of any country so far - with almost half in NYC, as cases rise to 310,000 and total deaths hit 8,500 leaving hospitals overwhelmed
    • US death toll from coronavirus skyrocketed by 1,497 in one day, taking the death toll to 8,503 and counting
    • Confirmed coronavirus cases reached 311,632, triple that of Spain and Italy
    • New York City alone accounted for more than a quarter of the US deaths
    • Virus took its grimmest daily death toll yet in New York, with 788 dying in a day
    • Michigan now has the third highest case count after New York and New Jersey
    • Detroit has 223 deaths, the most in a US metro area other than New York City

The gut-wrenching death toll comes as:
    • US infections reached almost three times that of the next hardest-hit countries Spain and Italy
    • 788 New Yorkers died from the virus in 24 hours as the city's fatalities make up a quarter of the US death toll
    • New York prepares to wake up to 'D-Day' Sunday, when the Big Apple will find out if its medical supplies are going to hold up as the outbreak reaches its peak
    • Shocking images show body bags containing the latest victims of the killer virus spilling out into the corridors of the city's hospitals
    • The NYPD is on its knees with 18,000 members testing positive and 10 dead
    • NY Gov Cuomo said the pandemic was like a 'fire spreading' as more states emerge as new epicenters
    • Louisiana has become a key concern with New Orleans patients dying at twice the rate per capita as in New York
    • Michigan now has more cases that California with 12,744
    • President Trump told Americans to prepare for the 'toughest week' next week
    • The president also said the NFL would kick off soon and that he didn't want the country shut down for 'months and months'
