Did this guy play in the Blazers' summer league? When I saw him last year in summer play he showed about 2-3 flashes of potential; more specifically he hit a jumper from around 19-20 feet off the dribble, I thought it was pretty impressive for a 6-11 guy. Anybody think he'll be over here in about 2-3 years?
Yes, he is playing in summer league, and he has done a pretty good job defensively off the bench in both games. It's just summer league, but he's very active and looks to be a good shot blocker. I'm not sure about his contract situation overseas, though.
Freeland is England's best, and probably only NBA prospect. Basketball is not big there and he gets no attention, apparently he has a lot of potential, he will probably stay stashed overseas for the next couple seasons.
I think he will stay overseas this coming season then come to the states the next year. I wouldnt be suprised if we traded him tho. Weve got enuff big men to develop... (oden, mcroberts, frye, aldridge...)
