ha, the powe show. I like it.but if he did so well against oden, I think he should tear up yi inside.
I think Yi is going to have problems with Powe, he's had a ton of problems with the stronger guys so far in the summer league.. I'd like to see Gerald Green break out in this game, he's got the overall advantage..
I want the Celtics to absolutly destroy this China team, and mostly, Yi Jianlian. Powe, Wallace, and Big Baby should destroy them.Does anyone know if Sebastian is still on the sidelines with Doc?

LEON POWE! God is this guy awesome or what?23 points, 12 rebounds78% shooting from the field16 points per game and 9 rebounds per game for the summer league so far..definitely a All-Summer League 1st team candidate
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BluffCityBlue @ Jul 11 2007, 11:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Didnt realize Scabs played for Memphis </div> The play-by-play guy also said "Green isn't a guy you'd think of as a highflyer." W...T...F? Here's my recap: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Celtics improved their summer league record to 2-1, as they absolutely walloped the Chinese National Team with a 28 point victory (80-52). Due to China?s relatively soft front line, which all likes to play the perimeter, the Celtics were able to dominate the glass, outrebounding China 43-28. Leon Powe and Glen ?Big Baby? Davis did most of the work on the glass, combining for 23 rebounds. Aside from the tough inside play, Boston played very aggressively on the defensive end, forcing 26 turnovers and not letting them get anything easily. While Rajon Rondo sticks out defensively every night, guys like Leon Powe and Brandon Wallace also did a tremendous job. The activity of Wallace is very appealing, and while the average fan may not notice or appreciate what he does, he has a legitimate shot at making the final roster. Leon Powe certainly was ?The Show? tonight, scoring 23 points on just 9 shot attempts, grabbing 12 rebounds, and working significantly harder than anybody else on the floor. With that work ethic, production on the glass, mixed with the extra intangibles he brings, it?s going to be tough for Doc Rivers to keep him on the bench. Powe?s tag-team partner, Glen Davis, had a rough night. While he was great on the glass, he was extremely frustrated out there all night long, picking up some ticky-tack fouls and turning the ball over. Hopefully ?Big Baby? can put together a good game on Friday night, because he wasn?t a happy camper against China. Rajon Rondo got off to a beautiful start, attacking the basket and being very aggressive offensively. We have seen so many times where Rondo has completely passed up wide open opportunities, but he did a pretty good job in this contest. He took much better care of the ball than he did Monday night vs. San Antonio, and once again he harassed the opposing guards. Gerald Green had a horrid offensive night. He couldn?t knock down a perimeter jumper to save his life, he looked frustrated, and he never got a chance to get anything going. Despite his struggles and frustrations, the one promising thing about Green in this game was that he still played very solid defense. He was extremely active defensively throughout the night. If there?s one thing you want to see from Gerald throughout summer league action, it?s just that. China?s newest star, Yi Jianlian, had another unimpressive outing. Jianlian clearly is an outstanding athlete and has a ton of raw talent, but he isn?t showing it in summer league action. Jianlian struggled mightily on the defensive end, committed eight fouls, and due to the strong defense of Leon Powe, he was unable to get many shots off. The ironic thing about all of this? It is believed that if Danny Ainge would have held on to the fifth pick in June?s draft, Jianlian would have been the selection. You can?t base your opinion on anybody based on summer league play, but he certainly has a lot of deficiencies he needs to improve on.</div> Check the blog out: http://www.celticsnews.com/blog/
Few comments about the game......1) Why can't Rondo play like that (beginning) the whole game? 2) The NBA TV announcers seem right on with their point about gerald green. " He tries to do the jaw-dropping play, not the best play", " He doesn't do the specatular, he does the super-spectatular, and it stunts his growth"3) Powe deffinatly deserves a spot in the rotation.4) I'm glad we didn't draft Yi.5) Bassy wasn't next to Doc, Doc was alone then left alone. And you can rule out danny too, cause he was with Kevin McHale 6) Sergio Sanchez sucks. Period.7) I wish Eric Hicks played more.8) The 7 ft, Greece player on our team has a horrible looking Jumper.9) Notice Allan Ray doesn't do anything dumb on the court. He won't blow you away, but he also won't make bad decisions.10) The Celtics totally cream China in General.

He only played like 4 minutes, you can't base your opinion on anybody watching 4 minutes of them in a blow out summer league game. And Allan Ray doesn't make mistakes? That is entirely untrue. He is a pretty poor decision maker, in my opinion, which is why I don't really want him on this team this season. The only skill he really has is a jump shot, and he rarely ever is able to shoot well in games.
Allen Ray, once he starts knocking down his shot, will be really effective for the time he is in. Compared to the other Celtics on the floor, I'd say he's on of the better decision makers. He knows when to shoot, unlike Rondo. One of these games, I guarentee it, Allen will have atleast 18-20 points, with 2 TO's or less.
I'm actually not a big fan of allan ray at all. In the time he got last year, granted it was little time, he turned the ball over and didn't make open shots. He's not really sticking out in summer league. From the sound of things I would rather have Brandon Wallace on the active roster.

Same deal with Allan Ray. Saying he's a good decision maker and takes care of the ball is definitely not true. As a matter of fact, since you are basing a lot of things off of summer league play, rewind back to the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game vs. San Antonio. Ray missed about five open jumpers in a row and turned the ball over on multiple possessions, and one of them was the biggest turnover of the game. Allan Ray will shoot the ball well 1 out of every 5 games he plays in, and he brings absolutely nothing else. He can't play the point, he's obviously undersized, he can't defend period (especially 2's, who are all bigger than him), and he is turnover prone. Give me Brandon Wallace, who brings a ton of energy, is an athletic freak, can defend 2-3 positions, and rebound the basketball over an undersized journey man like Allan Ray. Ray is Eddie House 2.0 at best.

I feel asleep sometime in the first quarter but all I remember is Rondo started out the game the wat he should play the whole game and Wallace had a nasty block on Yi and they called a bs foul, all ball.
I didn't watch the San Antionio game, because I had basketball practice, but like you said, its one summer leaque game, so it doesn't really make a difference on how one person plays one game. Now, I'm not saying he's going to be a great player or anything. But all the hate against him, for only a 2nd year player, is unbeliable, on every celtic board. Last season, as a rookie I remember him taking good shots, maybe not making most of them, but having good looks. His shot will start to fall when he gets his confidence going. Of the Eddie House comparison, I think, at best he'll be like when rafer alston was in miami, wasn't asked to do much, other than shoot.

Allan Ray can't do that.
http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rafer_alston/career_stats.htmlGive him time, Rafer alston didn't break the 5 point line until his 4th year. And we gave Allen Ray the minutes as Alston had his rookie year, 13.4, he would put up more than 2 points a game.
Are we really comparing Allan Ray to Rafer Alston?...http://www.bballworld.us/forum/A-Ray-gets-...ime-t33232.html
