I'm on the mend....have a bum ticker but it's hangin' in there...retired and fortunately have a nice place to ride out the world shutting down for a stretch. Feel better than I have in a couple years. My wife has decided to retire early so we're gardening and getting geared up for fishing the rivers again.

quite often, it was also good for hangovers too

there used to be, back in the day, a place in Veneta, out by Fern Ridge Reservoir a place called something like 'Big’s Hi Yu He He'....They had a burger challenge and the burger in question was about 10 inches in diameter. It was real tasty too.

glad to hear you're doing better.

make sure you keep a safe distance from the fish...oh wait, if you fish as "successfully" as I do, it shouldn't be a problem

They really do. I don't get why people love Five Guys so much. The burgers are so generic. It is like of I made a quick burger at home. The cajun fries are fantastic though. The only reason I go there.

In'N'Out is quite good for a fast food chain. The fries themselves are nothing special, but their animal style preparation for them is great. Obviously, you have to get the burgers animal style also.

No burger place is worth driving a long distance for, IMO.

As far as fast food burgers go, I'd rank them:

    1. Five Guys
    2. In'N'Out
    3. Jack In The Box

But there's a place in the Bay Area called Clarke's which make the best burgers I've ever had. Unfortunately, though, it looks like it's going to be a casualty of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Carl's Jr is better than jack in the box.

I would have agreed 15 years ago. I felt like their burgers declined. Though, to be fair, I probably haven't been to Carl's Jr. in....10 years. I used to really like their Santa Fe burger, I think it was called.

They always tasted too much like charcoal for me...overwhelmed any other flavor on their burgers

We don't have Carl's Jr. down her in central Ga but it's my understanding that they and Hardee's are actually the same company with virtually the same logos and simply called by a different name in certain parts of the country...I'm also guessing the menus are the same?

We have a place down here called Burger-Fi that is damn good.

Also, there is a Wahlbugers somewhere near me. I haven't been there yet though.

Yeah, I've heard that they're the same chain with separate names. Never been to a Hardee's, though, so can't confirm personally.

I won a Carl's Jr gift card and went there to get a coffee. We figured why let it go to waste.

It looked like they hadn't cleaned it in 15 years. What a dump. Smelled like bad meat too. Used to like them 20 years ago myself.
