No way he's paid 18 mil. If hes getting paid 18 mil that should be the last straw for the lakers gm and they should fire him immediately.

It's not official yet. They are still working out a deal. I hope we didn't do anything stupid.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>There's no rush into free-agent market by LakersThey have yet to decide what to do with their mid-level exception. Signing Fisher remains a strong possibility.By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer9:29 PM PDT, July 10, 2007The free-agent moratorium was lifted Tuesday at 9:01 p.m., and the Lakers were still looking for the right player at the right price.Like a majority of teams in the league, the Lakers still have their entire mid-level exception at their dispersal ? $5.36 million toward next season ? although they are spending it more slowly than last summer's immediate push to sign Vladimir Radmanovic as soon as the free-agent period began.Derek Fisher, who turns 33 next month, remains a strong possibility, although his age probably prevents him from receiving more than a three-year contract for about $18 million, a league source said.Last weekend, Fisher switched agents from Mark Bartelstein to Rob Pelinka, who also represents Kobe Bryant.Fisher was a confidant of Bryant when the two played together for eight seasons with the Lakers.Fisher recently left behind almost $21 million in guaranteed money with the Utah Jazz to become a free agent.Another possibility for the Lakers is point guard Steve Blake, who is seeking a five-year deal worth $31.4 million, the maximum numbers allowed under mid-level exception rules. The end of the moratorium meant that teams could officially sign free agents after being allowed only to agree to terms with them when the free-agency period began June 30. The Lakers had agreed to terms with forward Luke Walton on a six-year, $30-million contract that can now be formally announced.</div>http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lakers...1&cset=trueLike I said, it's not official yet, just likely.

oh, so it's three years? yeah, that is a little much for him. pretty good pick-up tho, besides the pay, if they get him. re-united and it feels so good..

Fish signing back with LA? I don't know about this deal. Can the guy still play? He'll probably be their starting PG, but he probably won't even log 30 minutes with Critterson and Farmar behind him. I guess they wanted someone who knows the system and someone who's smart and can shoot the ball.Upgrade over Smush atleast.

That's a terrible deal. Fisher may be good enough to start on the lakers but no way is he worth 13 mil over 3 years. He wasnt even worth that in his prime much less now.

I dont think its a bad signing.. they needed a vet badly at PG, and Fisher is a great vet to have..

Again, I am alright with this deal. Yeah...overpaying is a Motherf*cker but Mitch was desperate. Fisher will be a great fit with his triangle experience and the veteran we need. He will undoubtedly rub off on Farmar and Critty as well.
