We already do and have for decades. We've have been a very generous country imo.
Why is it we should carry the financial burden more so than other countries, just because?

REVEALED: More than 80 per cent of a Republican tax provision hidden in the coronavirus relief act will go directly to millionaires and billionaires - as it is branded a 'rotten, un-American giveaway'
    • Nearly 82 percent of a Republican tax provision hidden away in the coronavirus relief fund will go to the nation's millionaires and billionaires
    • Analysis by the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) discovered the tax suspension overwhelmingly benefits high earners
    • JCT determined that only less than three percent of the benefits will go to Americans earning less than $100,000 per year
    • Comparatively, 82 percent of the benefits of the provision will be received by those who earn $1 million or more annually
    • Suspending the limitation is set to cost taxpayers $90 billion this year alone
    • The investigation was prompted after reports surfaced that Trump, Jared Kushner, and others in his inner circle could also be key beneficiaries

Thousands and thousands of people are dying because of an awful virus that has people scared and anxious. Millions of people are losing jobs, kids are missing school and families can’t be near each other. Hospital and the medical community are risking their lives to take care of these people.

and today Trump listed off corporations and CEOs, telling everyone what a great job he is doing, berating reporters. Yesterday he said his power is “total”. A month ago he said he takes no responsibility.

We are truly in deep shit. To be so blind of the situation, or to be in such denial, is scary. We have a flat out cult running the country.

Yet the republicans bitched that the other side was trying to weasel stuff into the bill.

How you support these people is beyond me. You got fooled if you think they care about the american people. Start thinking for yourself.

(This is to those it pertains, not to the quoted)

there can be no informed plan until there's a level of testing about 20 times what it currently is. This is all trump pushing hard to ignore medical concerns and set policy with poor data. He already owns the mess the country is in to a significant extent, but he's working hard to dodge accountability. If he keeps pushing these premature policies, he'll no longer be able to dodge accountability...he'll have full ownership of any spikes and upward trends

yeah, looks like a great time to start planning to open the country up

I haven't kept track of this thread

has it been posted here yet that the checks from the stimulus will be delayed several days, if not weeks, because for the first time in history that any president's name will appear on checks from the IRS. Trump has ordered that his name appear on the checks

my gawd this guy is fucked up. Or put another way, there's no bottom with this asshole

But the WHO adjusted their guidance in late January. Trump continued to say it wasn't a problem into March.

Is he a just slow learner? Or is it something worse?

I assume that, to be consistent, Trump will also call for defunding the Trump administration, since it made all the same mistakes as WHO.

that trump and the GOP would funnel billions and billions into already wealthy pockets is the least surprising news of the decade. It's what they do and they are naturals in corruption

but the D's have a some share of blame here because they got stampeded into passing a 2.2 trillion dollar stimulus with piss-poor oversight. What the fuck did they expect after 5 years of McConnell and 3 years of trump?

Trump's supposed convo with Sondland was AFTER Trump's stance on Ukraine had already become well known. And no other witnesses corroborated that Trump said "no quid pro quo...while other witnesses disputed it. Even Trump's supposed notes looked fabricated.
