about those interactive graphs...I'll add that those graphs don't show the US as being the worst nation in the world, although most nations are better than the US. Having the same trend-line as Italy is nothing to be proud of....just the opposite actually because we had much more time to prepare.

My brother in law in Taiwan sent us 30 masks that we received today...April 9th Taiwan allowed relatives to send a maximum of 30 masks to all their relatives outside of their country...very nice of him to think of us and go to the trouble...30 will last us a long time as little as we go out in public...we were using bandanas and rubber bands before

 

I had this discussion with you on the phone. I only use left leaning outlets or actual data from sites when I share links. Mainly because those that dislike Trump won’t respect a Fox News link.

“Economic Impact Payment checks are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned — there is absolutely no delay whatsoever,” a Treasury Department spokesman said in a statement to NBC News. “In fact, we expect the first checks to be in the mail early next week which is well in advance of when the first checks went out in 2008 and well in advance of initial estimates.”

The spokesman said Treasury and IRS officials “have worked around the clock to get fast and direct economic assistance to hardworking Americans” and said the quick turnaround was a “major achievement.”

 

My wife and I got ours via direct deposit this morning. And, yes, we just slid under the $150K combined household income threshold. We're putting the money away, figuring that we're going to have to help our kids out at some point in all of this economic chaos.

And in the More Bad News category, it looks like there may be mutations to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that would make vaccines futile:

"The discrepant phylogenies for the spike protein and its receptor binding domain proved a previously reported structural rearrangement prior to the emergence of SARS-CoV-2," researchers wrote in the study. "Despite that we found, the spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 is particularly more conserved, we identified a mutation that leads to weaker receptor binding capability, which concerns a SARS-CoV-2 sample collected on 27th 26 January 2020 from India. This represents the first report of a significant SARS-CoV-2 mutant, and raises the alarm that the ongoing vaccine development may become futile in future epidemic if more mutations were identified."

Fortunately, they're finding that the mutation rate is slow, so maybe there's a window where a vaccine would help?
