Right. Well, get rid of it then. You can certainly do it in your own life, even if no one else does.

Are they really supposed to be unbiased? I'm not sure that's a reasonable position anymore when we live in a society as divided down party lines as we are today. It's certainly not a good business model for news agencies. Fox News proved that there are big profits in tailoring news content to meet the ideologies of your consumers. CNN and MSNBC took notice and did for the left what Fox had done for the right.

Historically, newspapers had a specific political bent and played to the politics of their readership. I think that there was just a relatively brief period between WWII and Vietnam where journalism schools were really pushing the notion of reporters being unbiased observers. I'm not sure that's realistic in today's political climate. I'd be inclined to really support that position if various media outlets didn't try to push the notion that they are, in fact, still unbiased in their coverage. I guess what I'd like to see is there be an acknowledgement that they have, if not an agenda, at least a political leaning. Do that, make sure that the facts of the news that they report are correct, and be open to legitimate criticism and I think I'd be happy. This constant nattering by Trump and the Republicans about "fake news", and the constant posturing by CNN, the NYT and other left-leaning media that they are the soldiers of unbiased news gets really, really OLD. Everyone has an agenda today. Admit it.

And yet it's so much closer to the truth than the yarns you spin. So I'm gonna chose the media over you, warts and all.

There is nothing wrong with commentaries like Maddow, Hannity and such. It’s when the programming claim unbiased journalism. They are advertising it. That’s reckless.

and yes, all have agendas, but there used to be reporters that put aside their personal ideology to get to the truth. That is not the case since the late 80s

It’s your opinion. I gave the links of New York Times, CNN and other agencies you claim have a solid reputation. I guess you maybe right. Pushing their false agendas aren’t very close to truth.

    I guess we agree!

You said it’s better than what I’m sharing in here. Since you made that statement, me sharing their reporting would mean 1.) You actually endorse my posts or 2.) you are lying with that statement.

what numbers don't you believe?...the covid numbers?

people have been talking since it all began that the mortality rate of covid would fall as the testing increased. Two weeks ago the mortality rate was 3.4% in the US....now it's over 5%

we've tested 3.4M people in the US....that's about 1% of the population

the world's numbers don't show any decreasing trends in mortality rate:

    upload_2020-4-16_16-10-6.png

    that's a 6.7% mortality rate in case you're interested

Germany is the outlier among bigger western nations:

    upload_2020-4-16_16-15-16.png

and they have a 3% mortality rate

I would imagine if we ever get to high levels of testing the actual mortality rate will fall, but again, we've tested 1% of the population so far and it hasn't

Or maybe it means I am able to make a distinction between what you type and what you link.

If I quote the bible it doesn't prove I'm God.

    Although I definitely am.

Lets use a specific company in hillsboro oregon as an example.
This company employs a ten's of thousands of people in Oregon.
On one site it's had 3 confirmed cases via testing. It sent those three people home, along with their co-workers for 2 weeks.

This company believes they identified where the cases came from. An on-site taco truck.
They've since removed said taco truck and won't allow them to come back for the foreseeable future.
However this truck served many, many more than just 3 people a day.
How many people were actually infected from this truck if this was indeed the case?
How many people were infected during the incubation period for this virus?
With tens of thousands of employees employed by this company in Oregon alone. Considering how infectious this virus is.
Would you put money on only three people got infected? Or would you put money on more people were infected. Yet believed it was seasonal allergies or worse found themselves asymptomatic.

To me it goes what is the demographic we're testing?
Are we testing all of those who came into possible contact with a confirmed case? No.
Are we testing those who are experiencing symptoms of the virus? No.

    Who are we testing?

lol. Nice concept and for those who take pause to research prior to supporting aNd limiting what they do hear, great.
But lets not forget humans flock and follow by nature. Throughout history we have by and large been sheep going back to the pharoahs.

who controls what the sheep hear in todays world?

the media is absolutely the pied piper of our current society.

Trump is a puppet just like Biden is.
Its the media and backdoor political agendas by the media giant ceos that lead the sheep.
