With the 2007-08 salary cap set Tuesday night at $56.63 million, Lewis' first-year salary with the Magic will be $16.68 million -- the maximum allowable for a player with nine years of NBA experience. From there, he'll get 10.5 percent annual raises. That will take the deal to a mind-boggling $25.2 million for the 2012-13 season.</div>
$126.4 million for 6 years? Are you kidding me? That is absolutely ridiculous. He fills a need, he's a good player, but over $20 million per year? Give me a break.

Goddamn....20 million a year for a scorer? He'll get his 20 ppg, but he doesn't do much else...ridiculous contract...

Wow. He got payed... That was a little much for a player like Rashard, but I'm sure that's what he wanted and the Magic gave it to him.

Nope, Lewis' contract is bigger than Shaq's 5 year/$100 million deal he signed.

126 MILLION! What the hell is going on?The Magic will announce today at 1 pm that they have completed the most baffling sign and trade deal in NBA history. The Magic will send a second round draft pick to the Sonics so that they can ink Rashard Lewis to a 6 year deal worth (holy F*ck) 126 million dollars!This sign and trade is crazy. It benefits no one but Rashard. We get nothing from it except the joy of paying this guy 50 more million dollars than we were going to, plus we lose a draft pick. No unloading of contracts. No compensation. Wow, and Seattle is going to get a second-rounder in return I read. That is one of the craziest sh*t ever.$126.4 million for 6 years is ridiculous. I honestly don't understand why they want to sign him for so much money. He will definitely help the team but this basically makes him the highest paid player in the NBA. This is more (average salary per year) than Shaq's $100 million for 5 years, or Kobe's $136.4 million for 7 years. Someone's cashing in today.

I thought this was a typo but I guess it's true. I share the same sentiment as others do, there's no way anyone can justify that contract for Lewis.

Well, we got the player that I had been wanting since september. Unfortunately, we also paid him more than anyone on earth should be paid to shoot a basketball. With Howards contract extension about to be paid, this will definately make Howard jack up his price for the extension probably. I guess it depends how we do next season, as to how well I liked spending this much money. Right now, not exactly excited about that much money being thrown at one person though.

Wow. The Magic completely F*cked up with this deal. They won't be able to put a team around this and Dwight's contracts. Rashard Lewis isn't even a top 5 small forward. ----------------- The Magic are just a stupid franchise...good lord.
