    In terms of gauging what "bang" you're getting for your bucks the dollars-per-winshare metric is interesting enough and seems sort of viable. I was just pointing out I think of "actual" on-court value it's not a great metric, or at least is flawed IMO.

    Yeah, I wouldn't use it as an all-encompassing measure of value on the the court. It's just a quick look at where money is being efficiently spent, taking everything into account. Even then, there are obviously plenty of caveats.
