https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/k...ckly-became-fan-favorite-short-audition-kings There was more wrong with our team than just injuries.
Not sure what this proves. Ariza was basically doing nothing in Sacramento and came here and had quite a few impact games. Also early in the season, the Kings were dealing with a bunch of injuries too, they got healthy, they got Bazemore (who seemed to fit for them), and they got better. Sure the problems weren't entirely health, but sometimes guys just fit better on other teams. It appears Ariza didn't fit in Sac but fit better in Portland and vice versa for Baze.
It doesn't prove anything other than some players are better fits on their new team than they were on their old one and, more importantly, that scheduling can make people draw false conclusions. Yes, the Kings went 13-8 after the Bazemore trade, but their 13 wins only included 3 against teams with better than a .500 record.
To me it looks like the Kings needed a leader. Blazers certainly didn't. Not sure what the linked story had anything to do with the Blazers though.
Yeah I was expecting some shit talking about the Blazers from this thread but there was nothing. Baze couldn't make open shots here but he was a great defender, nice attitude, and tried hard so I wish him nothing but the best. Glad his time in SAC was better.
It seems like ages ago so I'm not sure, but weren't the Blazers coming up on the 'easier' part of their schedule?
Relatively. Their remaining end of season schedule features 8 teams over .500 (Houston, Dallas, Boston, Philly, Brooklyn, Utah, Denver, & the Clippers), and 8 teams under .500 ( Memphis x 2, Minnesota x 2, Charlotte, Detroit, Cleveland, & Golden State). Houston, Dallas, Utah & Denver are all home games.
