Yeah, this time of the year you gotta be real careful when/where you're walking because they've only been out of the ground for maybe a month and are looking for food and water to fatten up again, and of course the males and females are both looking for mates. Funny thing around here is that as many ponds we have around here, and as long as I've lived out here I've only seen one cotton mouth moccasin ever...now, copperheads, hell they're everywhere...not very big snakes but hey say the bite is horrible, almost as bad as a diamondback.

You guys realize the toilet paper shortage was just a ploy to get people to wash their hands for 20 or more seconds!

New owners and they put a few tiny homes up but it’s still a fish camp for the most part.

Beautiful area. My brother lives in Crooked River Ranch which isn’t too far.

That will come in handy when you need to head for the hills to escape the coming Apocalypse.

If there’s no TP, I’d say that the recommended hand washing time would be 2 hours, minimum.

I want to retire in crooked river. Love it there. Been going there every year since I was just a young kid.

Didn't it use to have a different name? If I remember right they even had their own air strip.

I don’t remember an air strip. I always remember it as crooked river ranch. An old sticky guy who wore a cowboy hat and called himself crooked River Bob in the late 80’s early 90’s used to go around greeting people. I think he passed years ago

Poached can be done super easy. Fill a non stick pan with water, 2 tablespoons vinegar and get it to boil. Gently pour the eggs in, like from a tea cup, cover, turn off the heat, 4.5 minutes later, done.

I'll try that out. There are so many ways and BS gadgets for a perfectly poached egg, it's always annoyed me.

Black Butte is just west of Sisters.
Crooked River is off Hwy 26 near Redmond.
