He's an underrated player IMO...I think people would be surprised to see what he can do if put in the right environment.

He just had a contract year, in my opinion. Just like Kapono. He had his best year in the NBA with Golden State, because when you're playing in that offense anyone's stats can flourish.

Golden State should just use the MLE on him. I mean who else are they gonna use it on?

I think the Wizards should look at this guy if DeShawn is not re-signed. He fits in on the Wizards up-tempo playing style, is a hustle player, and would be perfect alongside Young and Navarro.

I'm glad to see teams not forking over big bucks to him, he isn't worth it. It seemed like there for a while every year there was some mediocre player who'd have an awesome playoffs and then get a huge deal and never live up to it.

He's a journey man that has been glorified because of Golden State's style of play. He's a solid player, he brings a ton of energy and he can knock down open jumpers, but I agree with redneck. I'm glad people are forking money over to Barnes.

just because you have a solid year doesn't mean you're an asset to everyone in the league. I'm tired of all the ego's in the nba. matt barnes, you're not that good.

doesn't deserve much more money than hes already getting at this point... give him maybe the same salary offer as last year... hes worked hard enough for a little more money without a doubt... not the amounts hes expecting though

Here's the thing. Barnes has fought his way into the NBA. He never got great playing time, and Mo Cheeks almost caused him to retire. If he didn't make the Warriors, he would have tried football. During his time in Philly with Cheeks, he developed his own jumpshot and he used that as a motivation to play harder, to prove Cheeks wrong. I personally think Barnes is a great assest to any team. He rebounds, he can shoot, he's a decent passer, he hustles, and he has a decent post game in the open court. He's worth MLE.
