You're right... One solution is not right for the entire country. Hence this is why it's smart to have each State Governors leading the charge.

Maybe so, but without a universal testing process run by the governement, the numbers have a lot less meaning. We are opening the country and at the time not a single state met the phase one guidelines and even if one state may have better control, all it takes is one infected person traveling to the other state and possibly causing it to flare up. I also saw states that opened things up and restaurants were jammed with very few wearing masks and no social distancing. That's how pandemics continue doing its damage.

Agree that we need to be very smart about re-opening. I think Oregon has done a decent job and have flatten the curve. Brown pretty much has aligned with CA & WA for re-opening plans but I think the have some leeway to do their own thing. A one shoe fits all would be nice but not sure how practical it is withates lagging behind or way in front.

All I have heard during the month of April when talk of reopening was being discussed and that the frontline workers with many doctors keep talking about the need for government controlled testing and guidelines were put forth with that in mind. Even the meat shops had specific guidelines and they have been mostly ignored for the most part and now I hear trump saying testing really isn;t all that necessary and it will just go away again. This idiot needs to wake up and do more rather than just flap his gums.

I agree, but the gov's didn't want to listen to the guy anyway. Plus in the beginning here in Oregon anyway you could even get tested if had symptoms, told to quarantine for 2 weeks. Stay away from the hospitals unless critical. I understand the strategy was to help capacity issues at hospitals. What frustrated me was Brown was sitting on multitudes of test but she was reluctant to use them till. Which I think probably proved to be ok as our numbers have been going in the right direction.

It isn't about listening to trump, it's about the CDC and the task force trump set up and put pence in charge of is who should be administering the process. All we hear during their stupid press conferences is a bunch bragadacious bull shit about how great they have already done. It's also much bigger than just Oregon. If a person in Arizona becomes infected and travels to Oregon and then frequents malls or places of large gatherings and then spreads the virus and boom, we are in a quick mess.

I brought this up a week or so ago. How would they control this. How would they regulate places like us, KC, NYC, and other large metro areas built on a border.

It seems that yes, each state should be individually assessed, but that assessment should come with some awareness of the next state over, and so on.

I do agree that even though each state should be handled differently, there should be a universal consensus regarding interstate travel. Until that is properly laid out(and laid out accurately) then you might as well open all the states.

    Or keep them all closed.

But yes. It needs governing body to provide an overall guideline to the states, based on their location(bordering) to other hot areas, or vice versa.

You win post of the day because you got a like from me. :)
