I have but I prefer dinkum which is just playing in the small front court one on one with a real tennis ball...more action and nobody gets their wrist smacked with a racket ..my wife and I play speedminton which I love because the birdie cuts through any wind...you need some space though and it doesn't take much elbow power to make it sail off the strings this is a speedminton match
tennis for old folks. exercise and social benefits. move it or lose it. many non senior leagues out there too. is fun ,mixed doubles, and teaming w/ significant other are usually part of the program.
My understanding is that more than a few houses in Charbonneau have pickle ball courts. As @lawai'a points out, it seems to be mainly a senior deal. I never heard of it until I moved to Wilsonville but it looks like fun....
If you start playing the Plaza Hotel in downtown Vegas has a pickle ball court next to their rooftop swimming pool that might be a fun experience for you.
seniors have been playing it in Taiwan forever....outdoor pickle ball courts and outdoor ping pong tables and badminton in every park...
I played pickle ball in middle school. Our PE teacher was kind of a grump, but he had us playing all sorts of games. We also played netball, handball, and floor hockey.
We played pickle ball in high school. Tons of fun! I was in Yuma, AZ in February visiting grandma. We went to her BF's RV/Trailer/Snowbird park. It was loaded with fun activities for the community, including a sweet pickle ball area with tons of courts. I was quite surprised.
I just pressure washed our basketball hoop out in the driveway...it was looking like something off the set of an Addams Family movie...pissed off some spiders. Need to air up the ball and start shooting hoops again. Just stopped using it when the boy went off to college...time to get the habit again
I played a couple games that was described to me as pickle ball over 60 years ago but it was nothing like that.
