Yeah, hell, look at the best LHed hitters of all time...most are lefties. https://howtheyplay.com/team-sports/Best-Left-Handed-Batters-of-All-Time
I'm almost certain I have some vague memory of some players who threw and fielded right handed who were excellent switch hitters. This from Google: "...Hall-of-Famers with at least 1,000 at-bats are nearly 10 times more likely to throw righty and bat lefty."
One of my best friends was a lefty. Growing up playing ball he just had that 1/2 step on everybody because it took them time to adjust.
And I see that with my daughter. She will start to make a move and the defenders always set up like she is going one way and BAM, she gets them going the other. I love it.
And people aren't expecting a rocket shot off the left. My coach growing up was ex-german pro and his son was on the team, had a laser left foot. Always caught people off guard. Funny enough he focused on baseball after high school and was a minor league pitcher for.a long time.
Just like any other sport, you get that defender or opposing player off balance for just a split second......that's all you need. She's been working hard during this lockdown. Very proud of her.
