This rumor doesn't hold much weight, but there's been small talk about a trade like this between Minnesota, Boston and Los Angeles L's.Minnesota gets:Gerald Green (Boston)Andrew Bynum (Los Angeles)Theo Ratliff (Boston)Kwame Brown (Los Angeles)Los Angeles gets:Kevin GarnettBoston gets: Lamar Odom Anybody know any information on this rumor? I don't think it holds any weight at all but there's been a lot of talk about it on the blogs around the web.
Horrible trade for Boston.Minnesota loses a franchise player and gets back 2 young big men that havent proven anything in this league yet (Kwame and Bynum). Not sure I would do it if I was Minny and I def wouldnt do it if I was Boston.
It isn't really a horrible trade for Boston. We lose Gerald Green, sure but we have a starting 5 ofRondoAllenPierceOdomJeffersonThat's not bad at all in the East. Green is very expendable at this point because of Allen being traded here.It is a bit of a bad trade for Minnesota, I'm thinking they should ask for a draft pick or something from LA.
I'm not sure how I'd feel about having that much offensive fire power on one lineup like that. There would be too much crying about touches and it would also severely take away from Jefferson's touches, and that is the last thing Al needs at this stage in his career. What he needs is to be fed the ball and continue to develop more from the player he was last year while he is younger rather than older.
Can you imagine Minnesota's future??FoyeBrewerMccantsGreenBynumWOW. Too bad this wont go through because everytime KG is invovled ni trades he backs out near the end or the middle of it. Boston gets a sort of win now team adding Odom to the mix.

Eh..
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. The Celtics need frontourt help and Odom would be great in a fast paced offense. He wouldn't take away from Al's touches because he'd play more of a facilitating role, which would help the developing Rondo tremendously. Odom is a great passer and is big enough to play the 4. Gerald Green is far from a sure thing to become a superstar. He could still end up being Darius Miles. Giving up he and Ratliff for Odom is a good deal. With that team Boston should win the Atlantic and make a finals run. There's no way Minnesota does this. They get two guys with potential in Bynum and Green, and expiring contracts. That's the best they could do for KG? They'd have to be incredibly desperate to make this trade.
This is a good deal for all teams involved, no doubt about it. I'd guess LA would be giving up something else, maybe a first though. Odom is still young...at least compared to Allen and Pierce.
Odom would also help take some pressure off of Rondo because Odom is a great playmaker and somewhat of a point-foward.
Like I said, it hasn't been released by any major media outlets. It's just a rumor floating around Celtic/Laker blogs/boards.
With Odom at the 4 and Jefferson at the 5 the C's could have a sick run and gun offense.Rondo/TelfairAllen/AllenPierce/GomesOdom/PoweJefferson/PerkHmmm...Wallace could take over as the freak athlete and crowd pleaser. Perhaps.
Odom gets hurt to much and why would Minny really do this? Trade away KG for okay players. Lakers are the only ones who get the good end of the deal.
I read this rumor but I wasn't sure of of it. Looks good, Boston would undoubtedly come out of the east with that lineup IMO, Lakers get KG to go with Kobe, and the Wolves get good young players for their future.
I would love that deal for the celtics. Although Gerald is going to be good, he isnt going to be getting that many minutes for the next couple of years unfortunaltey....Lamar would be a great fit on this team I think.

They could both be stars within 5 years. Green/Bynum would be a hell of an inside/outside offensive combo, plus they have corey brewer and randy foye. Not to mention they receive a pretty solid player in Kwame Brown. Minnesota would do this.as for the celtics, I'm not sure. giving up gerald is not as harsh as it may seem, mostly because Al Jefferson is turning into such a beast. That means we will still probably have a player to rely on in the future. and I personally would rather have a post player to rely on. Rondo is getting better, gomes is working hard, and it's not like Pierce is old. Odom is pretty young also. He will definitely relieve some pressure off of rondo and bassy (or whoever will be the backup), as he is a great ball handler. He can take his man off the dribble, he can post him up, and he can shoot the outside shot. Offensively, it's perfect. But then you look at how many touches each player can get. It's tough to predict how things can turn out when you get a lot of talent on a team in a short amount of time. But you know what they say, in order to win, you have to take risks.
It's not a bad deal for boston. All they give up is gerald green and a garbage vet and get an all-star quality point-forward. Odom-Jefferson-Allen-Pierce would easily be in contension for the championship. Andrew Bynum is also an X-factor as he could become an allstar.
I think Boston and LA should both throw in some future 1st rounders to really push minnesota to do this deal.
