Anyone with international friends should ask them about the perception of the US outside of the US. It is mindblowing. This^^^^, for example. There's this notion that we've cornered the market on freedom of [insert word]. Strangely though, what shines through at the moment, is the freedom to spread misinformation. WTF. I hate this war on truths. For example, this example: ALL of the numbers say that mail-in ballots are virtually devoid of fraud. The numbers are in fact incredible and should give us a sense of hope and excitement: the more that vote, the more citizens get involved in the system, the more they might FEEL involved in the system and therefore advocate for transparency and change (when needed). And yet the seeds are being planted for protest against the validity of mail-in ballots. How idiotic are we to accept this? I know it is trite to say, but a country that prides itself on its democratic processes probably shouldn't be trying to hinder them. In other words, why are we still having this conversation?!!?!?!? Remember the chads?!?!? And the allegations of millions of illegal aliens voting?!?!! This should be a priority. EVERYONE should be able to vote the way they want, in the most modern and secure way. If security is a problem, then fix it!!! Figure out a foolproof system. Now. The irony that Twitter would be welcome in Germany and be "free to criticize the government as well as to fight fake news [a term I now detest]" without threat of censorship by an unhinged wannabe dictator shakes the foundation of the notion of American freedom...
after several years it's clear whenever trump gets involved in something like this, this latest 'feud with twitter' for instance, I think it's because he believes it's better that everybody is yapping about his latest outrage than examining his actual record of corruption, incompetence, and continuous lies. He seems to be a firm believer in the 'latest-shiny-object-distracts-from-truth' strategy
The ignore list is your friend. Hate to put people on it, but if it is clear that they do not actually care to have meaningful conversation - why bother? They are just wasting your time.
BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump says he would 'SHUT DOWN' Twitter if he could as he signs executive order against 'anti-conservative bias' on social media and claims it is 'a threat to freedom itself' – but won't delete his account Trump said if it was legal he would 'shut down' Twitter He said he would delete his account 'in a heartbeat' if it weren't for 'fake news' AG Bill Barr said legal provision was 'stretched way beyond its original intention' He said when firms 'curate' their collection and engage in 'censoring' content firms become 'publishers' and shouldn't be entitled to a legal 'shield' Trump signed an order that could open up social media firms to an avalanche of lawsuits Trump also lashed out at Twitter's 'head of integrity' over tweets calling him a 'racist tangerine' The contentious spat with Twitter comes after U.S. coronavirus deaths crossed 100,000 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...social-media-greatest-threat-free-speech.html
Trump can't shut down shit. What's next? Is he going to sign an executive order to make the news outlets be nice to him?
Wouldn't it have been great if Trump had reacted so quickly when he first got briefings on Corona virus? Or on school shootings? Or securing elections? Or collapsing economy? Priorities.
Or helping Puerto Rico. In a pretty consequential three-plus years, we got the President least able to meet the moment.
Trump would have the nat'l guard paint the doorways of liberals with red paint and pay children to taunt them if he could...after he eliminates the free press and limits tv to one govt channel...soldiers in riot gear on the streets yesterday....seen this movie and it sucks
He is a genius when it comes to separating the right from the wrong. Unfortunately, he always chooses to do the wrong.
I thought the 1st amendment was dealing with government, not a private company that showed that he was spinning misinformation.
Don't forget the insanely large diet coke. It's no wonder he spends half his life in the toilet. You wouldn't think there would be any shit left in him.
Personally, I don't believe he actually ever took it in the first place. I think he was lying to further bolster his claims that it's a great treatment.
