Tear gas is a big problem with me. I've got paralysis on one side of my diaphragm and full blown asthma. We were exposed to it in the Army when I was 19. No problem, I was young and very healthy. Now, it's a whole different story. There's a significant portion of the population who can't handle it medically.
Of course, he always doubles down and that's because his ego is so monstrously large that he could never even come close to admitting he's wrong about anything. He can't admit it was wrong for him to fuck another woman when his wife was pregnant with their child.
His influence is tempered by the Devil. I consider Trump to be the most useful tool today of the Devil. For some reason God's power is limited by his inability to make everyone good. Why? I have no idea, but given that time is infinite, I'll presume that I'll know someday.
God has to appear somewhere in infinity. Now, infinity is too great for me to deal with so I'm going to have to leave it at that. But if you look at the good in life and let God into your heart and see the beauty in his teachings especially the ones concerning caring for the disadvantaged then you'll be swept over and find great happiness.
I am happy for you that you feel that way, but you can just as easily say that you look at all the horrors in the world and ask how can a god that is worth following allow it to happen? Personally, I do not think that any god promoted by the common religions is one I believe in, I believe it is just a creation of men kind. Early men used the concept of god to explain what they could not understand - and from there all kinds of people ran with it - some of them with good intentions, others, not so much. As long as it helps you and does not harm others - I say, good on you.
I already addressed your first two sentences. As for the third sentence, I don't believe that God will punish those who don't understand. I guess I'm more inclusive that exclusive. What brought me around was my childhood memories of all the good things our church stood for and the concept of infinity which I'm totally incapable of dealing with outside of Calculus.
