I don't know how many shoes I have but I'm getting pretty damn sick of doing laundry and pulling an odd number of socks out of the dryer

This is probably the wrong crowd to suggest it to (or at least, in the wrong thread) - but my solution to this problem was to have just one type of socks I wear, they are all black and identical, so there is always a pair. Don't fall into the trap that Big Sock is trying to put you in, man.
I need about two pair but I have over a dozen counting dress shoes that I have no need for anymore and can't wear anyhow since I now wear orthotic shoes. I also have athletic shoes that I can't wear 'cause I'd take about two steps of a jaunt on fall on my face doing damage the would require hospitalization. I'll bet I've got ten pairs of athletic shoes some of which I've never worn, Avias.

My dress shoes are Johnston and Murphy and Allen Edmonds. I use to wear Rockports to work but they wore out too fast when I was at Boeing. Some engineers who had to enter airplanes under construction a lot, just wore tennis shoes to work. Ever seen a man in coat and tie while wearing tennis shoes?
