Nothing really new to report on the Juan Carlos Navarro front but it's almost a certainty that the Wiz won't sign him now that Stevenson is in the fold. The latest is out of Memphis where Navarro's fellow Spainard, Pau Gasol, said that he wants Navarro in a Grizz uniform next season. I did hear one rumor that I haven't been able to confirm. It goes like this: Memphis was (or is) willing to make a deal that would bring Navarro's rights to Elvis-town along with Brendan Haywood. Link--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I really don't see the point in bringing another PG to Memphis. I guess it's all about making Gasol happy really, with his demands to be traded floating around. I do like getting Haywood, who would add some more depth to our front-court. I wonder who'd we have to trade though.

Although the signing of Stevenson makes it clear that Navarro will go, I would much rather find a way to move Navarro and Etan Thomas as a package rather than Brendan. Haywood can sell himself, many teams are interested in a still relatively young 7 footer. However, Etan would need to be included in a package. Sadly his contract, lack of size, and lack of talent creates very little interest for Thomas. As for guys on Memphis I would not mind seeing in Washington: Stromile Swift, Tarence Kinsey, Hakim Warrick, and Damon Stoudamire would all be great off the bench. I seriousely doubt Memphis will be willing to move Warrick though.
