Another shrimp on the barbie. However, I think pineapple goes best with pork. I love it with ham and with pork spare ribs on the barbie. Something about pork and cooked pineapple. Yum I never grill my shrimp. I steam them or deep fry them. Side dishes are hard to choose from for shrimp. Ribs are easy, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. Here's another great side dish for grilling. Try slicing a tomato in half and throw each half on the grill. The skin side remains down the least of the time while the cut side remains down for most of the time. Use a knife and fork on the tomato. The flavor as it accompanies the main dish is incredible. Of course, you've got to like tomatoes.
Remind me to grill you one of my world famous teriyaki burgers (think: Bonzai Burger from Red Robin). I specially marinate the burger to perfection. Has a fresh pineapple slice; usually, a slice of Tillamook sharp cheese (or provolone), tomato, and lettuce. Other options include a slice of red or green pepper. I've even added bacon, although, it doesn't need it. I happen to love onion or potato buns.

Seems like a good deal to me from what I've seen. I'll have to check it out closer tomorrow. Thanks for looking out.
It's artichoke season people! We moved this fall and I left my beautiful artichoke bushes in my old house. I miss them so much, for years we had unlimited artichokes for 3 weeks or so. What's the best way to eat artichokes? I am glad you asked. My two favorite methods first involve halving them, scouping out the fuzz and then cooking in an instant pot pressure cooker. Then you either 1) slather in butter and garlic and grill them on the BBQ. Or 2) lay them out on a baking sheet and cover then in olive oil, salt and balsamic vinegar (or some type of Italian dressing) and then broil them. Both methods are amazing in their own way
I've missed artichoke season both times I've been to Rome. One of my life's goals is to visit Italy during the season
Give me a plain old ground beef. My wife has been getting 85% lean but ground sirloin 80% lean would be perfect. I use to llike all the condiments but now I can't handle it that thick so mine just has thousand island dressing and sweet onion. I useally have Walla Walla Sweets but the last few have had Sweet Vidalias and they were fabulous. My wife peels the onions down to the tender part. and the slices are whole. I eat a naturally fermented pickle on the side and sometimes a handful of potatato chips. All of this is washed down with an icy cold root beer that has small chunks of ice in it. Now stop it, you are making my mouth water.
One of my favorite foods is a boiled artichoke with lots of mayonnaise and an ice cold soft drink. I use to have a cola but those are now off my diet due to their potassium level. so now it's my second favorte, a high quality root beer.
