Orange County top public health officer quit due to threats. After issuing an order to wear masks in public she received death threats, the county sheriff said he would not enforce it, and there were protests at her home by people demanding freedom to infect as many others as possible. I guess the old your rights end where my nose begins is so last year. She is the 7th county public health officers in California to quit under threat.

At a meeting of county board of supervisors, one person (white) said she was discriminated against by businesses that would not allow her in without mask. Older white woman said telling people to wear masks was putting a knee on their necks, because wearing a mask is just like being murdered. A younger woman said that it was ridiculous because the Corona virus is over.

California is one of many states seeing a spike in infections, mostly from Southern California. Bay Area is still staying put.

Covid-19 Patient Gets Double Lung Transplant, Offering Hope for Others
The operation is believed to be the first of its kind in the U.S. The patient, a woman in her 20s, had been healthy, but the coronavirus devastated her lungs.

A young woman whose lungs were destroyed by the coronavirus received a double lung transplant last week at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, the hospital reported on Thursday, the first known lung transplant in the United States for Covid-19.

The 10-hour surgery was more difficult and took several hours longer than most lung transplants because inflammation from the disease had left the woman’s lungs “completely plastered to tissue around them, the heart, the chest wall and diaphragm,” said Dr. Ankit Bharat, the chief of thoracic surgery and surgical director of the lung transplant program at Northwestern Medicine, which includes Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in an interview.

He said the patient, a woman in her 20s who had no serious underlying medical conditions, was recovering well: “She’s awake, she’s smiling, she FaceTimed with her family.”

But she has a long way to go. She is still on a ventilator because even though the transplanted lungs are healthy, her long illness has left her chest muscles too weak for breathing, and it will take time for her strength to return.

The transplant was her only chance for survival, Dr. Bharat said. His team wanted other transplant centers to know that the operation could save some desperately ill Covid-19 patients.

He said that other medical centers had been calling to find out about the operation and that some wanted to send Covid-19 patients to Northwestern for lung transplants.

“I want to emphasize that this is not for every Covid patient,” Dr. Bharat said. “We are talking about patients who are relatively young, very functional, with minimal to no comorbid conditions, with permanent lung damage who can’t get off the ventilator.”

For such patients, he said, the news of a successful transplant “absolutely could start something.”

He also said that doctors were closely monitoring Covid-19 survivors who had been on ventilators with severe lung damage, to see whether they recover fully or have scarring in the lungs that might eventually lead them also to need transplants.

The patient’s name is being withheld to protect her privacy, and her family has declined to be interviewed, said a Northwestern spokeswoman, Jenny Nowatzke. She said the woman was in her late 20s, lives and works in Chicago, and had recently moved there from North Carolina.

So Trump is just pretending it's not happening? The Republicans are going to continue pretending it's not happening and keep opening their states without any thought to it?

Trump doesn't have a clue...he's a one trick pony and his one trick doesn't involve taking responsibility or solving problems..he basically just jerks himself off while insulting anybody who doesn't want to watch him jerk himself off

He protested in Portland for 7 nights straight. Then he got coronavirus

According to Multnomah County health officials, fewer than five coronavirus cases reported to the county have involved patients who said they attended a protest before testing positive.

“And I’m one of them,” Snyder said. “That’s kind of crazy.”

He’s recovering at his family’s home in Southeast Portland’s Richmond neighborhood.

State and local health officials have noted that some infected with COVID-19 may be reluctant to disclose their protest activity with the public health investigators who follow up on their cases, creating an undercount.

During a pandemic, Trump chose Pride month and anniversary of Pulse nightclub massacre to announce new Department of Health and Human services rule. All medical and hospital personnel are now allowed to refuse service to any gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer person if they have moral objections to our existence.

If I got Corona virus, admitting clerk could refuse to admit me to hospital. Any doctor or nurse could refuse to treat me. If I needed a ventilator respiratory tech could refuse to provide one. Lab tech could refuse to run tests. Housekeeping could refuse to clean room. If I was too weak to go to bathroom, orderly could refuse to provide bedpan.

Because leaving sick people to die in their own shit is so moral and Christian. I'm sure Jesus said so somewhere.

    1. Trump is not a Christian;
    2. Just another reason to add to an already endless list of reasons to vote that sick fuck son-of-a-bitch out of office and in jail where he belongs.
