Look at Odom, he doesn't handle the ball going up the court most of the time because there's either Kobe or Smush. But Odom is still considered one of the best Point Forwards playing, because he can create for other people and himself, he's a playmaker(which is a big part of being a Point Forward), and he runs the offense. And that's exactly what McGrady does. You would see Alston trying to create for himself FIRST. That's his first priority when he handles the ball, but if he can't create for himself, obviously he's going to look for his teammates.And this is another thread showing when Alston is subbed, Luther is moved to the 2.
