I think we all think of Dame as somebody who comes up big in the playoffs, but it turns out that might not be the universal view:

Lillard gets a pass because other players on the Blazers have often disappeared in the playoffs making it easy for other teams to double him.

I think that if Dame had a partner the caliber of KD, his stats would look better too. Dame has improved a ton on the defensive end. He was abysmal his first few years, but he's pretty solid now. If anyone wants to stage a shooting contest between Dame and Westbrook, I know where I'm putting my money.

Where is his offense at? Field goals % is not the only thing relevant in offense. I bet he would admit his D was less than part for the first few seasons.

Not really fair to say he doesn't come up big when its only referencing half the game.

    Not fake news...

    Half news....

AND the post right below this on reddit says alot. Steph has like 75% cause to Dames poor D in the playoffs. He has had to guard one of the best in history more often than not.

    Not even half news...

I can think of 2 series where Dame was great in his career. The okc series and Houston. Then he had 2 terrible series against Memphis and New Orleans. The rest were meh

Actually he was pretty good in the series vs. The Spurs after the Houston win. But he faces more double teams then just about anyone i've ever watched, including all other Blazer Greats. And he still succeeds a whole hell of a lot.

Agreed. It's like how they gave the Finals MVP to Iguodala and all he had to do was hit wide open jump shots because Curry was being completely swarmed.

I'm pretty sure his defense on LeBron factored in more heavily.

I'd say because in many series he was beat up or gassed from carrying his team into the playoffs and leading the league in regular season minutes..then being triple teamed

I’m just being objective. And factually what I said isn’t off. I’m sure you would agree like I said that both the Houston and OKC series he was amazing.

And I can definitely assure you that you agree that the Memphis and New Orleans series he was atrocious. Lastly, the rest were mehh.

Many times in that Pelican's series he was swarmed by three defenders, while teammates watched. I was frustrated that his teammates didn't comeback for the ball more. Crash the 3 0n 1 defense. If it made a scrum, who cares. Almost like two blockers opening a hole for a running back. The adjustments were poor in that series. Nice thing though came out of that series. Dame developed whack range on his shot. He shoots better from distance than on the 3 pt. line itself now. Apparently he's pretty good shooting a jumper from half court too. That's the thing with Dame, he continues to hone his craft.

And yes, i understand you can't use a moving screen in basketball on the blocking for a running back reference.
