Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history These can be on the court, or off the court.Washington Wizards1. Dealing Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace, and Ben Wallace away.2. Changing our team name from the' Bullets' to the 'Wizards' back in '97 (as well as changing our uniforms).3. Giving up the chance to trade Kwame Brown for Elton Brand/drafting Kwame as the 1st pick (the okay thing about this draft was that is wasn't amazingly good).
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history I may not have been alive for this moment but it's clearly the saddest in our franchises history. In 1975, the Washington Bullets entered the NBA finals as the heavy favorites over Rick Barry's Warriors. However, the Warriors simply could not be stopped in the series. Golden State would sweep the series.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history
[*]Trading both Chauncey Billups and Joe Johnson halfway through their rookie seasons.[*]Promising Gilbert Arenas with one of our 3 first round picks, breaking those promises, and taking Kedrick Brown and Joe Forte instead.[*]Taking Jerome Moiso in the lottery.[*]Trading Antoine Walker twice, and getting practically nothing in return each time.[*]Giving Doc Rivers an extension.[*]18 game losing streak, last season.[*]R.I.P. Red.[/list]
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history Solid topic manI'll name some for the Raps....1. Rafael Araujo2. Vince Carter turning into a whining vagina3. Post-Vince days4. Our defense in the post Vince days5. T-Mac and Billups leaving just when they were about to enter their primes6. The fact that we've NEVER had a good 2nd option besides when Vince was still around with Chris.7. Rob Babcock, and everything that this man decided to do8. Jalen Rose's contract9. Bosh's injury late last season when our games were unwatchable even for the most die hard Raptor fans. You guys will know what Im talking about with that one.10. uhh....gotta get 10 here.....Vince Carter for the Williams', Joey Graham and Zo, who refused to play hereEdit: How could I forget the Nets beating the Raptors in the playoffs? A playoff loss is bad enough....but to the nets? omg I was pissed after that. I really wanted to show up Vince Carter one last time.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history Trading Scottie Pippen to the Rockets. period. It set us back for nearly a decade, even if jordan retired, if we hadnt tried to ''rebuild'' poorly at that, we could have made the playoffs at least well until 2000 and by then we could have had some new talent. Another bad deal was trading artest, Krause was the worst gm ever. Michael Jordan is the only reason he looked like he knew what he was doing but oh well, it worked out well now that we're a team on the brink of contension.edit: I typoed blazers but I meant rockets.

What's even weirder is that the one championship our franchise has won was with a 44-38 team.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history 1. Trading the draft rights to Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac2. Going 18-64, losing 10 games in a row before finally winning3. Trading P.J. Brown4. Bobby Phills is killed racing with David Wesley5. Drafting Kirk Haston in 2001, with the logic that they needed a big man and a shooter. So they decided to pass up on Zach Randolph and combine the needs by selecting Haston, who only played 27 games in his short career. 6. Baron Davis requesting a trade7. Chris Andersen f*cking it up in the Dunk Contest8. Chris Andersen failing a drug test and being banned from the NBA9. Hornets being knocked off in the first round of the 04 playoffs by Dwyane Wade and the Heat.10. Trading Alonzo Mourning
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history For the Lakers, it would have to be from 1975-1979. We had so much talent and did nothing with it. In 77 the Lakers were good enough to play in the Finals but Kermit Washingtons suspension put a hold on those plans.

Also seeing Mashburn, Davis, Wesley, Brown and Magloire all leave in the span of a year and a half was probably the worst moment for me. I'll miss those days.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history well this is more like momentsso1. 2001 playoffs series against philly when carter missed the last shot 2. calderon's turnover in playoffs against nets3. when we drafted HOFFA4. when we hired babcock
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history Toronto Raptors:1. Vince Carter missing shot in playoffs vs 76ers in 20012. Drafting Hoffa3. Trading TMAC, Damon, VC, Billups and Marcus Camby4. Hiring Rob Babcock5. Acquiring Alonzo Mourning then releasing him because he didn't wanna play for us6. Jose Calderon's turnover vs. Nets in playoffs of 20077. Drafting Alex Radejovic in 1999 ahead of Maggette, Artest and Kirilenko8. Drafting Michael Bradley ahead of Tony Parker, Arenas, Zach Randolph and Mehmet OkurAll I can think of right now...
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history how about the blazers losing a 15 point lead to the hated lakers during the 4th quarter of the 7th game of the western conference finals in 2000?BAH!!! STILL MAKES ME CRINGE!!!

Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history The worst moment in Nets franchise history was trading the all-time greatest Net (and ABA player) of all time for $6 million...Julius Erving. The Nets franchise never really recovered until 2001 when Kidd turned things around. In this decade, the worst moment was probably either getting swept in 2002 Finals, blowing an 18pt lead in game 6 vs. San Antonio, or K-Mart fleeing to the Nuggets (although it all worked out in the end).
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history 1. James Dolan2. James Dolan3. Signing Allan Houston to a HUGE contractThat's about it.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history -Not having a great team around Wilt after the 67 championship which resulted in a trade.-The 1973 that had the worst record in history going 9-73.-Not having a great team around Barkley resulting in a trade.-Drafting Shawn Bradley #2 overall.-Hiring Billy King.-Loosing in the 2001 Finals-Bringing in Webber (seemed like a good idea at the time, turned out to be a mistake).-Not having a great team around AI resulting in a trade.-12 game loosing streak before/after that trade.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history -Loved our drafting. We even passed on Kobe Bryant, and other greats.-The Shot?-The Shot 2?-Everything in Cleveland besides when we got LeBron? But then lost game 6 last year against Detroit because Flip Murray is a f*cking n00b. Got payback though. "SHOOT BOOBIE SHOOT!"Well, I honestly don't wanna sit here and type all my teams problems. I guess you could hand us an award for being the most cursed franchise. But then again, some would fight and disagree with that.. Fact is, Cleveland can't even win at losing.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history 1. Missing free throws in games 1 and 5 of the 97 NBA finals if Malone goes 6-6 Jazz win the title.2.The 54 point showing in game 3 of the 98 finals.3.Watching Deleny Rudd get eaten alive by Portland in 92.4. Giving the ball to Mark Eaton against the Lakers in 87.5. the first eight years of existance.
Re: Worst moments in your franchise's history 1. Being swept 3 straight playoffs.2. Having the worst record in the NBA for the '06-'07 season.3. Hubie Brown retiring.4. Trading Shane Battier away.
