http://blog.oregonlive.com/johncanzano/200..._paul_in_s.htmlThis guy must have had a lot of time on his hands, but it does make a lot of sense. They would probably make a serious run at CP3 once he hits the market, and knowing the Blazers they'd probably be able to convince him. Something to think about. :shok:
It really all depends on how Jarrett Jack comes along. He had a good season last year and he's still young with plenty of potential. The Hornets shouldn't focus on Paul, but rather focus on fully developing Jack. But, if Jack doesn't turnout very good, by 2009, the Blazers will be looking to make some big playoff runs with all their extroidinary talent, and with Chris Paul running point for Greg Oden, Aldridge, Roy, etc, who knows how good this team can be.
No way in hell CP3 goes to Portland. GM Jeff Bower is going cheap right now so he can save up some cash to extend Paul beyond '09. Portland has to really be looking into the future if they're planning on signing a star PG two seasons from now. I just don't see New Orleans letting Paul go after all he's done, Peja would become expendable in order to create more cap space to sign CP3. If we make the playoffs this season, Paul will not want to leave the team that he has completely turned around since Day 1.
Just imagine this lineup.C - Greg OdenPF -Channing FryeSF - Martell WebsterSG - Brandon RoyPG - Chris PaulBench: Lamarcus Aldridge Josh McrobertsDarius MilesThat would be a pretty awesome team. Paul setting up Oden all the time. Roy nailing shots. Paul taking the ball to the hoop. A decent bench. Now that is BEASTIN!
Paul wont even hit the free agency waters, the Hornets are going to lock him up in a long term deal next summer.
