Right? Mike Barrett was the cheesiest most Pollyanna play by play guy in the league. He was very likable but I want something more real, creatively articulate, incisive and intense... not a cartoonish caricature of an announcer/cheerleader. I liked Calabro's professionalism but he was outdated and repetitive. For both guys, having some catch phrases specific to you is very much a different thing than being repetitive and both Calabro and Barrett were very repetitive. (I realize that me using the word repetitive in this post so many times is hypocritical but I am not saying I'd be a good play by play announcer)

Calabro is so much better than MB but it was clear this wasn't a permanent gig for him. And he kept forgetting names. How often did he confuse dame and CJ even in yr 3? And he announced TV games like radio ones cuz of his yrs of experience in Seattle doing dual TV/radio broadcasts simultaneously.

But MB was too amateurish. And the homer calls were annoying. I found it endearing when Ricew like it, because he was mostly joking but MB... Nah. Pollyanna is a good word for it.

Hurd is a find tho. I really like him. Maybe get a pbp guy and bring rice back in for a three man look (at least for home games) like they did with Snapper.

I think we should get Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura to do it

Very sad news. I absolutely love KC. He brings total excitement to the Blazers broadcast. I was also sad to see Mike and Mike go. But Calabro and Hurd are my favorite TV paring ever. They were so good together. I'm happy for Kevin, and wish him all the best. But DAMN! THIS SUCKS.

I'm actually happy about this. When they let MB AND Rice go, I was heartbroken. They were a part of our team. I understood getting rid of Rice if you wanted, but MB? Just for Calabro? Hell no. I have watched maybe 15 games with Calabro because he wasn't ours. He is Seattles. And Fuck Seattle. I just couldn't adopt him.

I'll give Kent a chance. I doubt MB would come back but I really hope he does. I'd watch all the games I could again.

You have watched 15 games, that's it. Dude! So you are either a Blazers fan, or not. Now i get not liking an announcer, but the Blazers , i guess, are your team. How the hell have you not watched more. Unless you had to work and don't have access to a tv.

Trump could do Blazers Play by Play, and i'd watch every damn game with the sound off cause it's the Freakin' Blazers.

Wait hold on, let’s no rule this out... lol

“see Lamar, my great African American, Damian Lillard is the best, truly amazing, never been a better point guard that I can remember, and let me tell you this with certainty... LeBron James? He is one crooked, Chinese boot licking, son of a bitch!”

Except that his existence was led by confusion boats, mutiny from stern to bow.

Has Jordan Kent ever spoken for more than 20 seconds at a time? Hurd will carry the show and do 80% of the talking, as Kent stutters to fill Hurd's gaps. Both are hard-core Christians, which discloses President Chris McGowan's bent.
