The Heat, which also is seeking a skilled scorer at small forward, has expressed interest in Golden State's Mickael Pietrus.Link-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There's a chance Miami now turns its interest to Steve Francis, who had his contract bought out by Portland recently. Miami wants seeking someone to either backup point guard Jason Williams, who has missed at least 20 games each of the past two seasons due to injuries, or become the starter.Link.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with Lazy. The Heat have been in every rumor this off-season wether it be Artest or Mo Williams rumors. None of thse rumors have become a reality. I guess that the Heat looking at Francis basically means that Payton will likely retire or not get real minutes in the upcoming season. However to get Steve Francis the Heat must overpay, despite not having any problem doing it in the past, I don't know if Miami is willing to dish out more money rather than wait for next season where there is an even more valuable free agent class. As for Pietrus, he would be a great fit as a backup SG in Miami. He is the ideal role player and will flourish getting open looks from Shaq and Wade.

Getting Francis will probably lead to problems
