But it isn’t politics as usual when prominent Republicans, like the veteran operatives of the Lincoln Project, marshal support for the Democratic presidential nominee, and once-scorned backers of George W. Bush’s Iraq War like Kristol or David Frum find themselves embraced by the liberal resistance. Something big is happening.

this is the concluding statement in an opinion piece from politico that points out the common ground that both liberals and conservatives have taken in opposition to the president and the extreme positions taken by both sides of todays' political debates.
Harris' argues that the common ground being found today by the middle of both opinions may augur the coming together of our nation in the near future. let us hope that he is correct.

Good news from around the world is just a click away on a map created by a Portland man

When he launched the free site – Good stories from the pandemic – a few months ago, Mark Lawton considered it nothing more than a hobby. He hoped, at best, he might get 50 or so hits on his page.

But people, he discovered, crave good news. (See more good news stories at oregonlive.com/teamoregon.)

As of Thursday, his map at oneworld-stories.org had received more than 100,000 visitors from nearly every country in the world. He said stories on his map are now linked to 150 countries.
