Hell, a lot of the times when I eat bacon and eggs, I actually have multiple pieces of bacon and only one egg... where's the justice in that?
This guy Hawley won't give up. He has such an obsession with the NBA being involved with China that he wants Adam Silver to testify before Congress, specifically a Senate Judiciary Committee. This is some pretty serious stuff. This is coming from a Republican, a party that typically (I guess in this case when it suits their political motives) rallies behind the notion of free capitalism. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/507015-hawley-fires-back-at-espn-nba-over-china The thing I have to ask myself is, why the NBA? This foxbusiness article about companies with the largest market shares in China doesn't mention the NBA, so why is Hawley trying to nail the NBA to the wall instead of KFC, General Motors, Boeing, Coca-Cola/Sprite, Procter & Gamble, Intel, Starbucks or Apple? He has complained about Nike and had some complaints about Microsoft but not about their civic obligation to stop business in China but rather select Chinese companies Microsoft does business with, and he has also criticized Apple, Intel and Microsoft along with basically the entire tech industry for another of his causes that has to do with privacy and not tracking digital footprints but that's another issue entirely. https://www.foxbusiness.com/features/the-most-popular-american-companies-in-china It's pretty obvious why he doesn't go after Procter & Gamble or Coca-Cola because Hawley is in business with both, P&G is a vendor for Hawley's campaign and Coke is a donor. https://www.opensecrets.org/ Further research into this guy shows that he targets things he can sensationalize. He has been vocally against Black Lives Matter. He is also seen widely as an attack dog for the Trump administration on issues regarding social justice and tech companies, among other things so my earlier accusation that he is a Trump crony is pretty well founded. I'm not documenting this claim because any quick search will give you hundreds of articles about the link between Trump and Hawley.
Although I have no problem with what Woj sent, I can see why others would. Somebody just needs to set him up a gmail account and this would probably be a non-issue. Hawley can, for lack of a better term, go fuck himself.
With companies like ESPN situation there are always younger talented guys /gals, lower cost, waiting in the wings. His contribution to espn means more to them than ESPN means to him probably. He's no different than a player thats developed and brand and equity but I wonder if ESPN wants go on the cheap. They've clearly made some huge cost savings moves of late.
Practically all NBA products are made in China. Cutting ties would slash their profits enormously. Those profits come directly from the blood, sweat and tears of over one million imprisoned Imgur SLAVES in "labor camps" and "re-education" farms. Yes, the NBA is the most racist sports league in the world by far and a large financial supporter of slavery in Asia.
Oh come on, if you're like me you don't mind being in a long line as long as there are people behind you. Ever get in a long line at the grocery store and feel lucky because it was the shortest of all the long lines? I don't know about you but I feel a sigh of relief as I get in that line.
Millions of dollars to play a simple game would be inducement enough for pretty much any normal person. Thanks for pointing out how incredibly shallow, privileged, ungrateful, spoiled, and socially ignorant some of these players are.
The players union represents the top 2 dozen or so players, and most of the rest just keep their mouth shut to stay in the league. If ANY political statements are allowed on uniforms they should be selected by either the fans or the owners. The players are merely employees being paid fortunes to entertain the fans. NOBODY cares what they think, especially since a large majority of them have little formal education and even less common sense. This is certain to hurt attendance and product sales, and drive some longtime fans away for good.
So, I really do care what the players think. I actually think mere "employees" are what make up businesses. Don't get me wrong, players in the NBA are more than employees, as you can see in the CBA, the players have a share of the revenue therefore they are partners with the people who own the franchises. You basically say the players are out of touch. You sir are completely out of touch. Oh and by the way your precious owners were decision makers about the social justice messages, they signed off on them too because Black Lives Matter to NBA owners. Maybe they matter to NBA owners because they make them rich or maybe a lot of NBA owners are just sensible people. As far as the fans (who could be anybody that wanted to claim they are fans) choosing what messages go on the back of the jerseys... why would that make sense at all??? Also for the record a formal education doesn't make someones opinion or life worth more or less... it also obviously doesn't automatically make them more informed. Your ranting in here at the moment is pretty over the top to be honest.
Like, you are saying that this guys shtick is completely outside the realm of reality right because I know you can't be buying this nonsense. I don't know if that recording is legit or not but thinking you are getting accurate representation of a company from a random entry level representative at what is obviously a third party call center is not at all reasonable. Also the representative who said that KillCops was available obviously wasn't a reliable source and seemed confused. The fact is this hack Dave Hookstead could not manipulate an NBA replica jersey vendor even at a third party call center level to manufacture any of the nonsense he was purporting the NBA would put on the back of a jersey.
